I know you and the staff are aware that the PBATCU decided they could provide assistance to help move the issue of forward funding under 95-
471 forward for the FY09 budget.

I do not believe this to be a hasty decision on the part of the working group who proposed this action item, nor one the Board feels can be done
alone. Rather, everyone needs to be walking together to provide the best possible support for the tribal colleges.

Could you let me know who you have working on this on-staff and have them give me a call please. To best benefit the TCUs I feel we need to
meet and see how to best fit the pieces together. Budgets are moving forward and the Board has a sincere interest in adding value where it can.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for the offer. As I understand where we are in the process there isn’t much to collaborate on at this point. What would be helpful if you
could monitor the budget the process and keep us informed of any changes. Regarding getting together, right now [no one is available].

Per Cheryl’s request we will send out a status report at this point from our perspective to everyone. You may have other insights that you wish to
share.

In follow up to my note yesterday, I don't know that you can or are amenable to sharing information as suggested, but it would be helpful. I
wanted to let you know that we would be happy to visit with you and your staff in the near future regarding the need to collaborate on other
issues. I fully agree that we need to work together, which was one of the underlying purposes for creating the WHITCU. Obviously there are
strategies that you can pursue and others that we can pursue from the outside; therefore, it is important that we work together. In the future as
issues or questions are raised we can discuss the need to have some conversations.
