Volume 13, Number 14

I t s Tim e !
Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). Jesus talked a lot about the future. Granted, it was a future that was very near. There was still a sense of yet to be in the air. When He spoke of spiritually truthful worship to the Samaritan woman, He told her that the time had come. In such an application, the time is always now. Several times, Jesus spoke to His disciples of the events that would lead to His death. It was always in the future. Then on that culminating night, as He prepared his closest disciples for what was about to happen, He told them that the time had come. If we step back from the events of time for a moment, and look at the whole of the ministry of Jesus, we will see a pattern. For the most part, it was a forward-looking pattern. Timing seemed very important to Jesus. He did not want to get ahead of Himself in the plan of God. Take a look at the conversation between Jesus and Nathaniel as they meet for the first time. Jesus points to the future. You will see greater things than these (John 1:50). Then there comes that time. It is a time of realization. It is a time of focus. It is a time of culmination. It is the time. Jesus presented it as a time of authority and power. It came to be the time for the whole world. Trace it back to the fist sin. Follow it to the promise to Abraham. Listen to it in the words of John the Baptist. Recognize it in the completing work of Jesus. As Jesus came out of the tomb, He was living the words of finish on the cross. Pressed in Pauls message is the emphatic concept of time. Its time! Russ

Spotlight on Missions
This Week: India Preaching School & Orphanage School: There are many parts to this work. The training school was founded and established in 1991 in Nadamanuru, Vijayawada, India by Jack and Zonelle Cox. The administrator and preacher is D.B.B. Chandrapaul. His son is now an integral part of the administration. General: The school trains Indians to speak English and recently 36 students completed their training. This helps spread the Word because English is generally accepted as the business language in India and because of the countless number of dialects in the Indian language. Grammar School: It is one the very few religious schools recognized by the Indian government. The school is allowed to grant government approved certificates which provide the children of the home with recognition and the opportunity to apply for government jobs and pursue further study. (More next week.)
