Analyse PET granulate (new material) to protect injection moulding machinery PET granulate can contain small metal particles which can seriously damage injection moulders and may cause costly machinery downtimes during the production process of pre-forms and caps. S+S metal separators and magnetic systems effectively detect and separate magnetic and non-magnetic metal particles from PET granulate. PET recycling with added value S+S has developed advanced solutions for PET recycling which remove contaminants from PET streams and to segregate these streams by material type into separate pure fractions. S+S makes a significant contribution to returning recycled PET back into the production process profitably. Using S+S systems, the PET industry achieves recycling quotas of up to 100%.

PET pre-forms and caps with no flaws Metal contaminants can clog hot runners. The result is poor quality injection moulding and faulty pre-forms and caps. To come full circle new products made of recycled PET PET recyclate is the source of many new products, they are often more economical than new material and are environmentally friendly. Secure detection and reliable separation of metal contamination from PET granulate.
S+S metal detectors and separators detect and separate ferrous magnetic metals as well as stainless steel, aluminium, copper, brass, lead and all other metals from PET granulate (new material and recyclate), whether the metal is coated, lacquered, insulated, embedded or free. Magnetic separators are usually used for pre-scalping of iron. They support inductive separation and reduce material loss.

Metal separator GF PRIMUS This separator can be installed in vacuum and pressure pipelines (in any orientation). Fail safe detection is guaranteed even at high conveying speed. Contaminated material is separated without disrupting material flow.

Metal separator MFE PRIMUS Mainly used for applications with high throughput. Its pneumatic driven rejector guarantees secure metal separation even for large grain sizes.

Over-conveyor magnetic system OM Heavy duty magnetic system, optionally available with hydraulic drive; protection on each side prevents damage to the transport belt.

Metal Detector DLS The two piece construction DLS can be installed on (existing) conveyors and is most suited to inspect larger material streams. High sensitivity levels are possible achieved within the entire area of the detector head. Typical applications include the protection of granulators and shredders.

Polymer Separator VARISORT N VARISORT N, designed for PET recycling, will automatically separate unwanted types of plastic from a stream of PET bottles. Bottles are transported to the inspection area using a fast belt conveyor which assists with bottle separation.

Plate Metal Detector PT This unit will inspect for large contaminants and is mainly used for machinery protection.

Colour Separator VARISORT C VARISORT C colour separator remove discoloured contaminants from the PET bottle stream. Colours are recognised and categorised using CCD line scan cameras mounted over a high speed conveyor.

Visible Product and Process Data. Integrated VISUTEC data management system
All separation and sorting systems can be equipped with VISUTEC, the S+S system for monitoring and remote maintenance. The system provides valuable data on both the feed and final product. With VISUTEC, all process relevant figures (such as input, output and reject quantities), are monitored and logged. The WLAN interface enables maintenance, fault tracing and software updates via internet or telephone connection from a central computer.
