Math Workshop is a framework to meet the needs of 21st century learners as they collaborate and construct knowledge through purposefully planned, intrinsically differentiated lessons and discussions.

Opening Closing

Explore

Opening- 10-15 minutes The teacher sets up the days task or learning opportunity. The teacher presents the purpose but does not frontload information. Explore 30-45 minutes Students are actively engaged in the learning task in small groups, pairs or as individuals, based on the days lesson. There is a math hum in the classroom which promotes the atmosphere of a learning community.
