GRAPH PLOTTER - GRAPH CALCULATOR GRAPH MAKER SOFTWARE

Features of Graph Plotter Software:
The Graph plotter - Graph Calculator is a mathematics graph software, which facilitates to plot mathematical equations of the form y = f(x). Zooming in, zooming out, zoom to a selected area and a free movement by mouse click & drag are the prominent features of this software, which helps to view the graph for any location at the required view depth. Also this software supports for taking a nice printout of the graph as well as to save the graph as a picture file.

How to start with Graph plotter software ?

Open Genius Maker software and click "Graph Plotter" button. It opens the Graph plotter window as shown above. It automatically plots with a mathematical equation, which was typed last time or the default equation y = sin(x). Please wait for the completion of plotting. Now you can simply try pressing the following buttons many times one by one and you will immediately understand their role. ZOOM IN - to zoom in from the current position ZOOM OUT - to zoom out from the current position STANDARD ZOOM - to zoom to 10 x 10 size with (0,0) as the centre. ZOOM 100 x 100 - to zoom to 100 x 100 size with (0,0) as the centre. Move your mouse over the graph area. Just click on any place and without releasing the mouse button, move the mouse. You will see the entire graph moving to the direction of your mouse movement. Click "ZOOM WINDOW". Click at any point on the graph area and without releasing the mouse button, move to some other point and then release the mouse button. You will see the graph getting zoomed to the selected area. Now try typing another equation on the equation box. A few sample equations as well as syntax for constructing equations are given at the end of this page. Click "Plot". Please wait for the completion of plotting. Now you can move around that graph by using the techniques mentioned above. All the equations typed by you, are stored in the equation combo box. Hence you need not re-type a recently typed equation, instead, you click the down arrow in the equation box and select the required equation. To clear the history of equations typed, press the "Clear history" button. Please note that, this action will not delete the default equations set in the software itself.

Additional Features:
Coordinate display: Whenever you move your mouse over the graph area, you may see that a coordinate window appears just below the graph area. It shows the value of coordinates for the current location of the mouse pointer. Auto Focus : When you type an equation whose plot is beyond the current viewing area of the graph, naturally, you will not be seeing any graph on the viewing area. The auto focus feature is to facilitate you for locating the plot area easily in such circumstances. Just follow the steps given below to learn this feature. Ensure Auto focus is unchecked.

Click standard zoom. Type the equation y = sin(x) + 7 Please wait for the completion of plotting. You may not be seeing any graph on the plotting area. right ? Now set "Auto focus" label checked by clicking over it. You will see that the plotting area is moving to the area where the graph is existing. Print : If you want to take a printout of the plotted graph, it is easy. Just click the "Print" button on top. It opens the Printer dialog. Select options for printer, paper orientation and number of copies etc and then click print. Save : If you want to save the graph as an image, you can do so by clicking the "Save" button on top. It opens the Save dialog. Select a suitable location and name for the file and then click "Save".

Sample Equations:
The following are a few examples of equations you can plot. Mathematical Expression Way of typing in graph plotter y = 2x y = x + 3x - 2 y = sin(x) y = tan(x) y = cos(x) + 2 y = sin(tan(x)) + (x/2) y = arctan(x) y = 2*x y = x^2 + 3*x - 2 y = sin(x) y = (tan(x))^2 y = (cos(x))^3 +2 y = sin(tan(x))+ (x/2) y = atn(x)

Syntax for equations:

The following table gives the syntax to be followed for constructing the equations. OPERATION Addition Subtraction Multiplication Division Power of a number Exponent OPERATOR + * / ^ e USAGE EXAMPLE x+5 x3 4*x x/3 x^3 2.345 e -34 For large / small numbers Remarks
