Chapter 1
Why is it so difficult to sit down and write the book of love, because our love can never be enough? Because there is not enough time to write? Because it already exists? Because the contents could be of no surprise to anyone? Because were writing by candle light? Because there are so many things to do to survive before we have the luxury of describing the glorious nature of the Supreme transcendent reality? It starts with life. Life is about living, about surviving, keeping body and soul together on the sometimes hostile surface of a basically benevolent planet. Finding a place to stay, or to run and shelter in, when rain clouds, thunder and lightning or people around us become too much. A quiet space we can call our own to sink into, to close a door and feel more protected or to say I need to be alone. Space is always at a premium on this planet as well as it is in this universe and throughout what we know as the material world. The material worlds are made of time and space in essence or these are inherent qualities of them which do not exist in the vastly unlimited realms of the spiritual world. It is like a game of musical chairs, one chair is removed and when the music stops everyone rushes for a seat but the last one has no place and is out of the game. A harsh reality but this is our world. The world of Goddess Maya while so kindly providing space for everyone someone is always squeezed out. The illusion is that we being eternal beings conceive that we have continued existence and a place to call home, which we do in the spiritual world, but not here. Here the sands of time and space run through our fingers as we become the oldest, the weakest, the most foolish or daring, the youngest, the diseased and we no longer have the energy to hover the air currents looking for a crag in the cliff side where we can perch for a while to rest our weary limbs or find food and comfort, a momentary shelter to give us the whatever it is we need to keep us pushing through the wheel of life after life. Page: 3

This book is called The Book of Love because it is written while the world is sleeping with tremendous effort by one who even though aided and encouraged by powerful guides would rather sleep along with the world and fall into the extreme comfort of daily prayers at dawn. Certainly this rising early every day and praying to the teacher and God for engagement in the service of Krishna* is the most beneficial routine or regimen any soul can aspire for. Never the less this is The Book of Love because it is born from going beyond the requirements of a religious life style into life itself. It has to stretch time, to steal hours from a quartz clock, to arrive at morning prayers, bathed and in fresh cloth, to work through the day to pay for food, shelter and the needs of the body. Some place to keep the flies down to a level of tolerance through screens to raw suffering. To buy pain killers in whatever form they may take or just to secure a quiet place for prayer and fasting. All this requires the work every day of our own hands. No one can or should do this for us unless we ourselves are but babes in care of mother. We still have time to be distracted, to search out entertainment to go through life like were someone special waiting for the door of opportunity to open just a little so we can step through into the light and find the golden egg which will solve all our problems never working in the here and now, always dreaming of the future and swimming in the past. When a drop of pure love descends quieter than a whisper over a few souls under the shady branches of a pair of maple trees somewhere in the middle of no time nowhere we sleep and it floats right by. There were distractions or much needed rest from the labors of the day which postponed the book of love until the pain became too much. And is not love the most painful experience? Does it not demand that we go beyond our reason, beyond our times for this and that, beyond our commitments to oceans of family, friends and truly dear ones? Does it not demand that we squeeze the life out of life itself and offer it at the feet of our beloved whether asked for or not? It is the bloody sparrow carried to your feet by your conditioned Cheshire cat. Page: 4

It is the moment we have already paid for or will pay for later. It is a genuine attempt to share a moment of love shown to it. To pass on the greatest family heirloom, a treasure not to be appreciated on the open market, but held in high esteem through generations of family close and distant. An almost secret, a jumble of words that point to a moment of falling from and climbing back to grace. Grace that moment when the one is dependent on the other, the child and the mother. When work and prayer are the same thing, when you have to remind yourself to breathe in between re-living that experience and drawing it out for the world. It is definitely in some kind of illusion if it thinks it can unlock the contents of even one heart, yet it will race against time to try. Big Sister, the material illusion is holding up a stick aloft. Little brother is stretching thinking that he will catch it. He does catch it finally, thinking that he caught it by his own stretch or strength. Big Sister just lowered the stick a little so he wouldnt give up and quit growing, but keep growing and think he was getting somewhere by it. Maybe one day hell grow up to be strong and protect her also. Who knows why she teases him, but to make him strong and bring him like a flower to the point of opening. To bloom in amongst the next for wherever we find one flower we may find several or many. Illusions child, sick and forlorn, unloved and unremembered save for clinging with all hands and feet blindly to whatever thread is dangled before it not knowing if it can breathe once, and therefore forever. If it cries, will its cries be understood or heard by the ones she/he the soul wants, and not by the wolves and bears that lurk in the deep forest? It is a race against the coal mine which has come so close to our village that it threatens to wake us from sleep. It is the roar of heavy machinery which cannot be heard above even the flies or crickets or the sound of our hymns the roar that is drowned out in the market place of daily survival. That creeping, crawling, lurking, insidious, horrid stranger is death or the inevitable crumbling of our village into the cavernous chasms of the encroaching coal mine. Who on Earth would not want to breathe clean air, drink pure water and live free from the sirens and highways, which leave no space silent in the world for a soul in contemplation? Your problem is now my problem. I came here, Page: 5

I had no problem but the one I brought with me. And now we live in Village Earth together with those we love and dont, but still the lack of silence brings me ever back to the enemy without, tunneling beneath our feet. Can we live without electricity or afford to change over to solar panels? Do we have the ecological clout to demand action or help or change? The miners are on the verge of strike, this is optimistic but it is my prayer, lets support them in their strike. Look! maybe if it goes on long enough, theyll get to like the silence that once was in this little corner of the world, and who knows, maybe that silence will creep back in over the edge of mainstream civilization, until it becomes a whisper around the world. Do you want to know a secret? Were all going to change the way we live, and we who pray to Vishnu pray it will be for the better. But if those coal mines stop, can we live in peace in village Earth? We need some cops. We have interrupted this flow to bring you an important speech delivered this evening to the union of Mine Workers International... Dear brothers and sisters, well help you with your strike, well give you food and clothes and build you houses in winter if you would please put down these noisy machines, so that we can have just a few nights sleeping soundly in silence like it used to be. You might like it. You might find that here we have everything in enough supply; food, work, housing, clothes. Turn off your TVs or watch the news in large groups only. Lets find out where the twentieth century went wrong and where it can come out right... You all friends may know the author by now, predictable as he is, bound to point to Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam as the illuminating guides for an Enlightened Theocracy. Enlightened Theocracy which is truly humble and guides human society from simple conditions. Lives simply and shows to less enlightened power magnates that knowledge is action for Bhagavan* for the good of all. Actually, we humbly beg forgiveness from the rulers of this world if we have offended them, Page: 6

but beg to draw their attention to a perfect system from the master plan of the creator of all things. There is a way for the world to live in peace as one body, working for the good of the whole, which allows the needs of all limbs, albeit with reasonable restrictions. In the Book of Love we want to go beyond politics, or how the world can live in peace as one family to deal with love itself. But sadly, even though it is love itself that guides this pen, love can not be dealt with here amid the noise and backdrop of the mines or can it...? Love pauses to remind us of what we have to do of that which we have already done. Love is with us in the hot noisy attics of New York City. Love is with us in the pain of natures decay, as we perhaps begin to realize that we will not die. We will not die, were all in this together we may all be sharing our last breath together. How long can Mother hold out for? The scientists, please, what is your estimation? If we carry on like this, how long can we last as a planet? Or, if we change, how long can we make it last for? This is all delivered jovially and with love, to family, friends and loved ones, to brothers and sisters of our village. But I mean it. Do I have to scream it from this rusty van by candle light on a mid summer night, if I could? I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you. The cops, the robbers, the miners, the carpenters, the blacksmiths, the farmers, the ship builders, the nuclear factory workers, the computer operators, the war head makers, the shop assistants, the warehouse workers, I love you all, you are all my brothers and sisters. Okay, language is a problem, Page: 7

some people dont understand it when you say, I love you because we dont all speak the same language. So please learn fast or be blown to bits by the heavy artillery of one or three shady superpowers. This message reaches every soul in the world as a feeling. Its a ripple, its a wave, it says from the very within, worship the Supreme Lord for everything. From the solution to our own one man one woman problems in the world, to the solutions for global peace. Krishna says, Catur varnyam maya srstam guna karma vibagasah (B.Gita 4.13) and it is still as relevant today as it has been beyond time. Ishwara* solves everyones individual problem and the whole collective dilemma in one go. This is an urgent request just prior to autumn to the Collecting Information Agency of this or any other participating nation to please examine and make a study of the principles of Srimad Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam. As far as any other scripture is concerned, Mohammed see a new religion is being formed and they do not recognize it, or the profoundly accurate dreams of St. John of Patmos which tragically and joyfully are coming to pass. I do not know. These pages like so many pages, lay details for life in the village to feed on, but what the lives of the prophets of the new teachings feed on, is the thin iced air near the summit of silent mountains. Moses climbs steadily a step at a time, till one by one or in families, the Israelites fall by the way side, or just hang around where its a bit more comfortable until he gets back. He leaves behind the land of cabins, candles and blankets and the air slightly scented with wood smoke. While the village sleeps, Moses is lifting his open toed sandals carefully by quarter moon light so his feet will not be dashed upon a stone. For unless he returns intact, his sacrifice for the village will be somehow tainted. But beyond this in the airy ethereal realms of highest solitude, Moses kneels and bows, Page: 8

sits and prays for the satisfaction of Jahovah. All the holy books, the writings, the candles, the incense, the pictures, the beads, the robes, the speeches, the readings, are all somewhere else. Just Moses and Yahweh, a little moonlight a bit of thin air and the only water that which he carries inside his body. Beyond Moses, meditating on the mountain in the mists of this and other histories, is where he himself was at. May we be so bold as to carefully lift the corners of time and see into the heart of this, or other of our great teachers lives, to please know what drives one to do the will of Paramatma*? How can we also strive against the creeping sleepfulness of comforts to find that One to one meeting with the Supreme Absolute Truth. What came down on those slabs of stone or what the book grew into over the years, means nothing unless it leads to this. There is a huge gap in history and in his story, of his own, your human race. Moses was an alien... he voluntarily became alienated from his tribe, from his race, his family and his people to climb the rocky paths, less and less worn, to reach the peak of pure communion with I AM. And however long he was freed from man and his mines, like a yogi, who in deep meditation, forgets feelings of pleasure or pain arising from the body, which is the temporary vehicle for the soul, is something only God knows. For Moses was surrendered unto His will, as soft as the serpents which came from the staffs. When he came back, he had to change it, to turn it around, to make flexible his people to survive the great leap forward. For why is it so important if the rods became serpents or the serpents became rods all that El Adonai wanted to say was: Here is a man who has seen the truth a man who speaks the truth he is a brahmana Page: 9

if you do not understand him listen to him anyway because of his power because all powerful things are but a fragment of My power I am the Alpha and the Omega the beginning, the middle and the end the Generator, the Operator, the Destroyer the Son, the Father, the Holy Ghost Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh I am all things and here is My prophet. I speak through him to soul, village and world. He writes another book, the missing link in scripture to tie Bible, Koran, Gita and all Vedic supplements together. And even if his clothes smell of sweat, if he hasnt shaved for a while, hes My man on your mountain, and there arent many left. His message is short, sweet and powerful, because it only serves to tie together all incidents in universal history. It only wants to point the way and say, the Gita, the Bhagavatam. My life is in those words, sealed up for as long as the human race needs them to understand. Veda means knowledge. This is Kali Yuga. Get what light or love or life you can together and pray that when we leave this body behind, this Earth, like a tired poisoned desert that we clasp our hands in prayer. Like diving into the chilly waters of an unknown lake, we pray that we come up on the other side of the pool and that our sweet Lord is there, so we can once again be lost in the ocean of His dreamy eyes. All these moments of direct connection to Achintya* for His word to come through, are what is the Book of Love. From revelation to Revelation and this much I know, all things are connected, chief Seattle to Rupa Goswamis The Nectar of Devotion. Krishna, God, the Omnipotent, the Great Spirit, Our Father, His teachings are all the same. Only the language changes but the message is the same. Page: 10

So He sends the prophets from fifteen minute media messiahs to those who stand eternally in the lives of men in this universe. But the message is the same, this time its in English. The blessed Lord says, just surrender unto Me, become My devotee, give up all varieties of dogma, I will protect you from all reactions to sins and free you for eternal life with Me. (B.Gita 18.66) In mornings, noons and evenings, we are silent and pray for ourselves and for all. It is our deepest wish, that all the world will find a time, a space, to give over to the Lord for this. It is our wish for your children, that peace fill this valley, and spread from here to the world. Amen Hare Krishna Allahoo Akbar om Shalom.

Chapter 2
Once more to the Book of Love he comes, the writer, with she the soul, this time not sure why but unable to sleep and determined to use this insomnia for the good of the world. During the sleep, which in painless times is deep and ample, there come many dreams. We usually remember only the last one which brings us to the point of waking, our entry into the world of surface consciousness, where one type of reality only is generally accepted. How willingly the moth flies to the flame of a candle and is burnt and buried in molten wax in moments. Its over like a breeze causing the flame to flutter for a second. The soul of this insignificant insect leaves behind its vehicle body and goes on perhaps to become a better or more beautiful moth than before. As long as it is moth bound however, it will always follow light to its source as does the soul, bound or free, always seek union with the light of Parameshwara*. In one sense Vasudeva* is separate from us, in His kingdom very far away, but that kingdom is with Him present in our hearts. The journey to Him is inward first, and then outward, if we wish to find Him now, and not only in the here after. There is a mystical meeting ground where He relays messages to us and to His greater prophets. But this realm is so subtle, that many even advanced religions, dismiss this aspect of communion entirely, except when the medium itself is clothed with familiar icons. Paramatma speaks to the soul in dreams. The Greater Being humbly whispers the lesson or next clue. The Supersoul relates to the soul in this meeting ground Page: 12

because His nature is not to force Himself upon the devotee and to evade the rationalist and dogmatist altogether. So all can happily dismiss the experience as unintelligible communication or forget it ever happened, if aware at all. Some religionists accept divine communication when the holy teacher, guru or prophet comes bathed in light with concise and accurate words, or shows some clear sign to us rejecting other communications of an abstract nature. In one sense, the time it takes to decipher and figure out what the message is, in some jumble of images, could be better spent praying for guidance, but guidance is there always for those who recognize it. In all scriptures, the dream, the vision, and the revelation are respected and if not directly engineered by Narayana* Himself, are accredited to Angels and other guides. Some people build a dream diary, a catalog of dreams, by writing as much as they can remember of the dream as possible upon awakening. One advantage of this, is to begin to understand that the reality we live in, is only one of many realities. It is not our way to be fully immersed in one reality only. Srimad Bhagavatam identifies three states of consciousness; wakefulness, dreaming and deep sleep. We can progress and learn from the waking and dream state and rest in deep sleep. We can pray or talk to the Lord and He can hear us, He can talk to us and we can hear Him. At every moment He speaks to us as Supersoul, the voice and witness within and through others to us in the same Supersoul feature. Most of the time we are too busy or too noisy and distracted to pick up any of these messages, unless we have been trained to listen for Him, or we have opened our connection to Him through Self Realization. The dream is just another of His ways to help, to teach and nurture, to guide, refresh and sustain. Nightmares are some kind of purification and contain messages and warnings. All He does for all of us is for our ultimate benefit. Page: 13

It is His love for us which makes Him whisper daily to the soul, almost to the point of His allowing us to discover Him. He is that kind. The great thief in the night, who wishes to remain hidden from rough eyes, and anonymous to those without love, who is prepared to reveal Himself gradually, or all at once to one who wants only that. One who wants only to love Him, will leave behind everything the village and communities throughout the universe hold dear, for His sake. He says, You can have Me if thats ALL you want and having Him who is everything, there is no room for anything more. The Book of Love is written here, now, because dreams have brought the pen holder to this place, this sacred valley and it is dreams of his and others which keep him here. The Book of Love would have no basis but for the vision of the soul granted by Govinda* through service to guru. Vision of the one God of all of us, as He is for me eternally, and as I am for Him. Realization of Krishna brings realization of ones own self also. Revelation is the daily if not momentary unfoldment of more and more of the absolute truth in our lives. We might like to taste one drop of salt water or even a few, but none of us can drink the ocean. We cannot even take a stomach full of it. Absolute truth knowledge of Narayana cannot be poured by the bucket load into our minds and brain. We are like an ant who would drown and be lost. The soul knows in full, is full of light, could light a whole universe, but is covered by matter. The process of Self Realization is to remove the covering of the soul, a particle at a time. God Himself directs the work once we undertake it. Now this particle, now that one and He Himself removes the pieces too. Page: 14

They are building a tunnel under the sea between two lands. Tunneling goes on from both sides, they will meet somewhere in the middle. As we climb up to Him, He comes down to us. His reciprocation in this path is proportionate to our endeavor. He wants to reveal Himself to us, but He would blow us away, or we would blow Him away and say not now, or not this, or is this the end of me? We need to follow the path to build the machinery, to build the receiver to pick up His message. Then, He, having established a way to get through to us, and us knowing that it is He were listening to, begins to put us through our paces. We must be strong to lift Giriraja* and place Him in the core of our heart. He makes us strong by the attempt to reach Him. We must have love to bind the Great Beloved to us, the relationship builds over a period of life times. We go through struggles together. We see how He does His share of the work. Hes always there when we need Him. We get to trust Him, to like Him and finally after many battles fought and lost together and won, even quarrels between us, we emerge welded as one. In whatever style of love you want Him. If you dont know Him at all, if you cant conceive of how youd love Him forever, dont worry, He knows, He knows. Only He knows where were at, where we will be and where we once were. Where we will be, where were heading on the beautiful path, is to where we once were. We had a personal relationship with Him, who is also a person and that is what we are trying to uncover, to restore, re-institute, reinstate, revive, the memory of which only He in His love for us, has kept alive. We left for our self exploration of the distractions of the abyss while He was holding the baby of our cherished love. He remembers what we all need to know to become sane, to become who we are. Page: 15

Right now were living embodied, enmeshed in a variety of complications far from absolute reality. This land, the family, the Earth village, our body and brain with its number and name, are not the eternal seat of the soul. All the religious programs introduced in the last 3,000 years, have only been stepping stones or ladder rungs, if they just teach us to be good and fear God. God doesnt want us to fear Him. He wants what we want, to be loved. The paths that teach about the formlessness of God are teaching us how to walk in light. Next we become infatuated with the teacher and shower him with affection and assign remarkable attributes to him. Finally after living in light, and learning to submit to and love another being, we are ready for the final challenge to our separatist ego centered world; introduction to the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The other paths must be gone through. Theres a lot of learning, a lot of becoming trained as a spiritual warrior, to face the final showdown. Some people go straight to Bhagavan, the Personality of Godhead, or appear to. Actually, this is the culmination of lifetimes of fine tuning and spiritual events. You can go straight there but it takes life times. All the isms and ities are valid, but are incomplete and therefore imperfect. We do not wish to offend some of the Earths believers, but facts must be spoken, and as the body dies the soul lives on. We do not advocate abolition of any path, only placing God above it, not Gods and priests and sacrificial lambs or perfect men. They can slice off the top and say thats how it is or was, or should be. But were not buying that lie, or the attitude that might is right, and truth is decided by the jack boot or the Howitzer. Truth goes beyond this planet with H and A bombs. Truth cannot be manufactured. Truth is not the commonly held belief of masses. Page: 16

Absolute truth is the whole of God including the impersonal, the Supersoul and God Himself the Person, it culminates, arrives and ends at the beautiful stunningly attractive feet of the Supreme Person Gopal* He is not a member of the human race, the human race is fashioned in His image. He does not have a material body. The material body we have is an intricate machine replica housing Spiritual soul spark, of which substance, His entire being is composed. The Book of Love asks that even after the departure of this scribe, even after the annihilation of nations, all dying for adherence to truth, that Absolute Truth be allowed to breathe on. The perfect system is a by product of Absolute Truth. Absolute Truth eventually will surface triumphant, because it is in fact the only reality and all else will come and go by its temporary nature. But much time in misery can be avoided by inviting it into the open and providing it with a platform for broadcasting. Absolute Truth is humble. It does not demand adherence to its way as an alternative to death or condemn avoidance of it to eternal damnation. Rather it waits like a grand parent for the child to grow old enough, to be taught that useful and intricate skill, which has kept the village alive all this time. Grand parent knows how to live, how to give, how to care for and receive, how to love when no other can. Has patience and will teach all knowledge as long as attention span is there and will let child play king of the castle, in between lessons, at childs pace. Young man strolls out boldly, will not listen to elders, steals horse, neck is broken by low bough. If you dont have time to study all the ways, the paths, the books, take this advice. We have studied hundreds of them. They all say the same. Some 1 degree and some 360 degrees. Page: 17

There is Ancient Wisdom. Veda means knowledge. Operators manual and hand book for planet Earth. Live in peace they say. There is a way, it can be done. Broad minded, tolerant, benevolent, merciful, practical, humble, profound, ancient, moral, spiritual, mystical, complete, natural, ecological, its all there. Once again, Srimad Bhagavatam, Bhagavad Gita are the refined essence of all Vedas easily available. Our only problem, our only challenge, is our ego. But it is go ego or we go. There is no room in village Earth for both. The meek shall inherit the Earth for when all the ego maniacs have wiped each other out, the humble ancients will gently till the soil, pause to thank the sun and pray to Keshava* for spiritual and material sustenance, and blessings for all.

Page: 18

Chapter 3
The Book of Love limps gently on by candle light, this time from a log cabin near a garden, where all creation and particularly the crickets voice their thanks to Purushotam* for an early evening down pour which broke the heat and brought refreshment to all plants and trees. The Book of Love page by page, attempts to describe what is already written, already known, it is merely a sign post for those with no time to read maps or those with no map. It has faith in metaphysics, astrology, numerology and other invisible sciences. Astrology in particular is an accurate science of studying planetary movements and their influences upon people, places, time and all things under the sun. Each different planet affects a different part of us. The sun the general persona, the moon the mind and inner desires, mercury the intellect, Venus the emotions and so on. This is all broad generalization and surface scanning of a great and deep science, but look at the way the moon pulls water, affects the monthly cycle of the female body and affects the mind. The moon is very powerful in a physically apparent way and can clearly be observed. Other planets may be further away, do not affect us so dramatically, but have workings on other parts of our beings. Our own body comprised of the eight separated material elements; Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Ether, Mind, Intellect and False Ego, is a microcosm of the whole universe. Whatever is present within our total being is also present within the universe. Everything we do is influenced by bodies billions of miles away, and everything we do influences the whole universe ultimately. We can see how the behavior of one person can affect the destiny of the whole human race. Some of them are prominent like Jesus, Einstein or Hitler, and some of them unknown, but all make a wave or ripple that has cosmic repercussions. The Book of Love like any other book demands a little of your precious time. The time spent with the Book of Love Page: 19

is for improvement in knowledge and faith of Bhagavan and His creation, material and spiritual, and in due course of time, will help in your journey towards Him. The ultimate goal of life is to be with the Lord once again, to remember Him always, so that at the time of death we can remember Him, and thus be transported to association with Him. This is the natural existence of the soul, and any other state is merely a stop gap measure of temporarily seeking some distraction to avoid ultimate reality. We are here. He is There and here. We can find Him here and There, There being the spiritual world. When we find Him here, we see this place differently and work under different laws than the other seekers and sleepers. When we find Him There, we find ourselves also and how we are for all eternity in relation to Him. Once having reached that spiritual peak of seeing Him here, There, and everywhere, in every atom and in our heart, then we have changed, we have reached, we have understood and surrendered. All of the books, the prayers, the fasting, the hymns and sermons, chantings and meditations, the various yogas or selling magazines on the street are about building us up, building our spiritual muscles so that when the moment comes we can catch it. We are not crushed or confused, baffled or amazed, just open to the core enlightenment of the Supreme Being as he reveals Himself to us at his own discretion by His own sweet will. We can climb the bean stalk , we can wait patiently, we can tear down mountains, walls, veils, scream His name from deep within, but He alone reveals Himself as He chooses when He wants, when we are truly ready, when our destiny, karma, love, need, faith, surrender are all ready for it. When we freeze and burn, give sweat blood and tears for the service of our guru. Yes thats the bottom line. Ultimately, you can say or think that some old brahmana* Page: 20

has written in scripture that the guru is served so he and his descendants can become served by starry eyed aspirants, but in fact, Mukunda* works through the guru and without this willingness to surrender to him, you cant make it. Guru breaks down conditioning. He breaks down the limitations we place upon our own possibilities. He acts on behalf of Govinda to engage us in His work, to build us up, to stretch and hammer us into warriors fit for the ultimate quest. And when were ready when were baked, fried, fired, forged, when weve gone beyond material desires, Krishna comes through to us directly. We have our own relationship with Him, we always have, but Gurudeva woke us up from sleep, saved us from Hell, took our karma and suffered for us, so we could make a clean break for the border to the other world. He is lying there wounded and saying, Its okay, Ive got it covered, now is your chance, go for it. He carries the luggage of our past karma, so we can walk without being over burdened or interrupted by some catastrophe, that was supposed to happen and would otherwise have put an end to the quest for this lifetime. He tells us all we need to know, gives us weapons and armor and supplicates the Supreme Lord on our behalf. He connects us to Bhagavan, Hes our man with the direct connection and he is as powerful as our faith in him is. Even Jesus said you are cured not by Me but by your faith in Me. You empower your guru to free you and Krishna does the rest. He is our lawyer, doorman, teacher, sergeant major, mother, father, priest and favorite speaker. He or she may be a simple person or a great person, with one disciple or millions but whoever it is, you empower him to free you and Ishwara sticks to the deal. He may be Self Realized or just one step ahead, You look, you choose, and stick with it. It is like getting married, Page: 21

only there is no divorce, then its failed, you couldnt maintain your faith. Guru speaks through anyone and everyone. Through a cat, a dog, a mouse, a cockroach, a drop of rain on a window, through a distant voice or through the heart. God is the guru in the heart saying the same as the guru outside. The person outside who takes that role helps you to hear the Lord within, then you are becoming Self Realized and one day will be in full contact with Krishna directly, but even then, you never lose the feeling of gratitude for the one who made the impossible possible for you. So many people helped us in this way or that, but there was one who gave the key to the door of illumination, and that person stays always for us as the outstanding influence of our lives. If we go to the palace of the king to receive some reward or honor, many people help to get us there. The river boat man, the driver, the one who gives us nourishment for the journey, but the king is giving our gift so he stands out. He is only as great as your faith, he may be Jesus or Mohammed or some bearded fellow you met on a trip to India, but you follow him and advance. You pick guru according to where you are at. If you have a long way to go, you will pick a guru with a long way and follow him/her life after life till you all get there. If it is his last life in this world, then you may be getting very close to the spiritual world yourself, and soon you will be guru for someone. Guru is also learning from disciple and service goes both ways, but on the surface it is like he is the master and we are the humble servants. That is how it needs to be for the mystical process to work. That is how Krishna made it and wants it. There are exceptions to every rule, but one thing is for sure, we all need someone to help us. If we surrender to that, Ananta deva* sees we can be humble before another human being, and then He knows we can easily be humble before Him.

Page: 22

If we want to make it out there into eternal light love and life, we have to do like that. It is a source of joy and strength to depend on, learn from and respect our teacher, our Guru Maharaja. Purusha* throws all the switches, pulls all the punches, but He uses the guru as His ambassador or extension in the physical and astral realm. It is important. That is why the Book goes on about it for so long, and could go on for much longer, but time is short and you will know by your own experience if you are sincere. Its all there in the Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam. Love and faith set the ball rolling, perseverance and patience keep it going.

Chapter 4
The book of love rolls reluctantly on in the aftermath of severe thunder and lightning. We were not expecting to be here, now, doing this, but strange dreams whose recall brings tears to tired eyes immediately, and the sheer volume of thunder claps have taken us out of sleep and once again into the service of humanity. Like a mother, who must leave her comfortable bed when her baby cries at night just to see everything is okay or to try and soothe her child, so our beloved guide guru and friend has woken me with help of mighty phenomena, to call me in dark of night to this humble work. Time once again is being found whence it is not. This body must be there for early morning meditation, prayers and songs and then for a mornings work weeding and digging in the garden, then to our afternoon of making candles and an evening of short worship followed by practice of music for edutainment of others. God is Time who develops and devours all. We are all born with some years months, days, hours, minutes and seconds stamped on our palms and thats the lot, all we get. We fought so hard, played tactical games, to be the one or few who in the body of a sperm swam through the hostile environment of our mothers womb to reach the golden egg. Our prize for this one in 5 billion success story; the human form. The human form so rare amongst the other eight million or so other forms which inhabit our world universe. Each of them like us is spiritual, encased, embodied, embroiled in matter as if inextricably bound up together. This is an illusion of wholeness we fall prey to growing, seeing, learning, feeling and being through the mind and senses of this body. The actual fact is that the physical body can be reduced to a complex combination of five elements Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether which is both physical and non physical simultaneously like sound. Page: 24

Pervading this gross body is an astral mental body comprised of mind, intelligence and false ego which loosens from the gross physical during sleep, and can be used as a transport or vehicle for souls expert in astral projection, and is known to Sufis and Yogis by different names. This mystic ability can give great freedom and power to the soul, yet does not constitute total freedom. Only when the soul is extricated from the firm attachment to mind, intelligence and false ego, can it be said to be truly liberated. We accept or fight for a gross body, keep it for these days up to a hundred years, and leave it when it no longer serves any purpose for our progressive journey. The gross vehicle or chariot of the body, is destined to last only so long and then decay and perish and merge back again into the atoms of the universe. The conscious yogis separately offer the earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intellect and ego back into the universal sum of these elements when choosing a perfect moment to leave the body. All the elements we borrowed from material nature are used and then returned to Her as the soul, liberated, moves on, maybe on up to the spiritual kingdom. The astral body of three elements stays with the soul over millions of life times, being refined, developed and enhanced by experience after experience which is noted and stored only by the Supersoul who accompanies the soul. The Supersoul is a splinter of the one Great God who travels with us directing our efforts and witnessing all our activities. He supplies life to the soul, memory, knowledge and forgetfulness and does not change or leave us over our almost unlimited voyage. He is the source of all knowledge, and the purpose of all endeavor is, to come to the point of full open contact with Him. He whispers to us often, but we cannot hear Him unless we find the silence in our being. He gives us the freedom that as long as there is one thing we would rather hear or contemplate other than Him, He stays in the background unnoticed.

Page: 25

We can talk to Him any time. Even a child addresses prayers to Him, the Lord of the Heart in the Heart of our being, the very life of our own soul. All that we think and feel, the pleasure and pain we experience is known to Him and experienced by Him. He shares our trauma, our guilt and our breakfast but unlike us remains totally unaffected by them knowing as the Most Ancient Being the temporary nature of material highs and lows. He is the source of love and as we are born through family after family or from mother to mother, only He is the constant companion, our true love, our real friend and parent. He is waiting only for us to turn to Him, to speak to Him, to offer Him everything and to listen and be guided in return. He is the same Supreme Being in the hearts of every other being and is the Guru who can teach us, help us, from within any being. The soul enters the material world from the spiritual world, or from the body of Maha Vishnu* like we enter the world of dreams when sleeping. The soul may be bound up for countless lifetimes as we experience many changes of scene in a dream, but this all takes place in only a moment of eternity. We are in the spiritual world, dozing for a moment, we dream the dream, wake up and we are back. That is sort of how the time-eternity thing works. It is not able to be fully measured or comprehended by mind and intellect. You have to experience an ocean in a drop of water, or just experience beyond timeness to know roughly what it is like. We arrive and travel through the demigod forms, humans, animals, birds, plants, insects, aquatics and reptiles down to an amoebae learning always something to add to our complete evolution, then back up again to the human form. This form is the most useful of all forms known on this planet, due to power of reason and ability to seek out the Supreme when food and shelter chores are done. From this form we can springboard to almost anywhere in the universe Page: 26

and even out of the universe altogether, back to our real nature in the eternal world, if we have done our time. We have to live so many years in a body and quit it, either when it is no longer useful or when it can not help us further in evolutionary development. In the same way, we have so many life times to do in this universe until it is our turn to leave. There is a flow of souls going both ways like negative and positive electrons in an electric cable and all are moving up and going one way or the other. They can not jump over the one in front, they just get in line, do their time and arrive exactly when supposed to. The animals and lower species have some way to go before becoming human where liberation, stepping in line, work can begin. So also some humans have been at this work for life times and are almost ready for higher evolution or journey back home, and others having just achieved human form, want to experience all the thrills of owning such a useful vehicle. Even amongst spiritual and metaphysical paths, some paths are for newcomers. And some are for those who have worked through all existing forms, finding the ultimate, before becoming once again reinstated in eternity. We can see those further ahead and those behind us on the path and should see equally knowing that well get to where they are, and theyll get to where we are, but externally we act as students and guides. If we blow this valuable opportunity for ultimate attainment by spending our allotted time in gratifying the body and mind, it is clear that we have not been around the human form long enough to know its real worth and must endure further waiting and various pains of death and birth before we become spiritual warriors. Anyone who lives with the Book of Love and previous versions of it in different covers with other names existent since time immemorial will know what needs to be done Page: 27

in terms of using the higher nature of our being to control the lower nature and engage in practice of Self Realization. We must close the gap in the hearts of all between us and Gopal in the spiritual world. In one sense it will all happen in time but actually we progress at the speed of our dedication and determination. The jewel in the lotus is ours. Enlightenment waits for every soul. It is almost totally impossible but we will all achieve it. We will all be Buddha, Christ and Mohammed. We will all be perfected children, perfect souls. Once we have started on the supermost path, time becomes our dear friend and the prize of love is very, very close. Giving up our own selfish desires for the satisfaction of the Supreme Self will be all that is needed to bring about our great awakening. The path is clear if we have our Book, our teacher and some brothers and sisters with which to share the work. There are no impediments, what seems like an obstacle is placed there by God, so we can become strong by lifting it, bypassing it or cutting through it. With the arrival of our teacher into our life, the work begins a pace and this is the beginning of the end of suffering, lamentation, anxiety and material desire. It is in our view, the quest for a treasure, greater than millions of Earthly kingdoms, to find pure love within and feel that brimming over, it is what we wanted all along. The buried treasure waiting with our name on it. Time to dig and light up the somewhere special mine. Time to dig love.

Page: 28

Chapter 5
The Book of Love continues and wants to speak about how it too, naturally, contains contradictions in its own unforced natural way. Many writings and especially those we are concerned with, the scriptures, contain these contradictions. Any book can reveal a fragment of the truth and even various scriptures only contain as much of it, as words can hold. It is like going to the ocean with a group of people all carrying buckets. We fill our buckets and carry off the water as much as we can take, but even if we spent our whole life time trying to empty the ocean, we could not. So it is with Truth. We can only absorb a little of it while God lives in every drop, conscious of every atom in every ocean. There are many contradictions we can address and since we are concerned with Absolute Truth, as opposed to relative truth, contradictions will naturally occur due to its all encompassing nature. In the Mahabharat there is a war between the good and the bad and eventually Krishna lends Himself to the good side but still supplies soldiers to the bad. Even in amongst the selfish and evil motivated camp, there are great, pious and enlightened heroes. Nothing is completely bad or completely good, all things hold a mixture of the two. Yin and Yang. Parabrahman* Himself, while He is the light which dispels all darkness, is also in control of darkness. It is not that He has a secret life as Lord of darkness in His spare time. But He controls all existence directly or indirectly and creates life in matter by His glance. He can illumine every place, every heart, but in His infinite kindness and wisdom, does not force His way into peoples lives, Page: 29

who wish to hide from Him in forgetfulness. This is the dilemma of the Book, while desiring to bring love and light into this world, it also loves those who wish to remain in darkness and does not wish to disturb them. It will not charge them with swords and say the empire of ignorance and darkness is shrinking, turn to the light now, or be slain, because it is all loving. It cannot force the soul to love God. God does not force us to love Him, for love is voluntary and natural, a growing awareness, an awakening, an unfoldment into the warm rays of light. This love in harmony with the one Supreme Godhead exists throughout the spiritual world, which is unlimited in any way by size, whereas this material world comprised of almost unlimited universes is contained within a part of the spiritual sky. The kingdom of light is most of what is, and so why does God or His servant or His Book need to expand that light into the dark little corner of our worlds down here. He doesnt need to, but He throws us a line to save us from drowning. He simply lets us know that He is there, He cares, and we can find a better life in a perfect environment suited to our inner being, the permanent spiritual soul. This spiritual body, is not subject to decay and death, but exists eternally in love with the Supreme Lord, who appears to us in the form that we can love perfectly forever. He produces a different manifestation for every soul and shows a different part of Himself to each soul. This material world is the world of Maya or illusion or that which is not what it appears to be on the surface. Just like no matter how beautiful someones skin seems to us, beneath that 1% layer is 99% of blood, bone, marrow, sinew and fat, none of which could attract us. In the spiritual world everything is 100% pure ecstatic spirit through and through, yet there exists a type of illusion Page: 30

known as Maha Maya. This does not overtake everyone, but for some souls Krishna appears as a child, a lover, a king or a friend. While loving Him purely and being lost in intense loving thought of Him, sometimes they forget that He is God and believe Him to be their own friend, child, father, lover or king. While aware that He is special in every way, they are also unaware of His extensive potency and supreme dominion over all that be. So the Book would like to direct people to the spiritual world, for their own benefit and pleasure, and would like to see a righteous spiritually centered civilization on Earth but it feels not like screaming or raving or condemning to urge this. It only wants to add a little push to this change for the better that is already happening and will happen with or without the Book. You can take it or leave it, you dont have to believe it but from where we stand, looking through the eyes of scripture with eyes wet with love, it is our fragment of the Absolute Truth and while it is merely a particle of spiritual gold dust, it is 24 carat or 100% in itself. While the Book would like everyone to experience pure love, it does not want to force another religion down everybodys neck. And knowing that all souls present here are in evolution to the highest state of human existence, knows that they will in due course of time, in this life or the next, seek and find the topmost realization of Love of God. So preach we will, but in whispers like the Lord in the heart. Looking patiently for those who are ready, as the careful gardener looks over rows of trees, to find and pick those which have become ripe. In the beginning of the season, the ripened fruit is hard to find and it is a special event. But when all the mature fruits start to appear, the gardener has no time even for watering, as he tries to collect the harvest. At the time of writing, Page: 31

this time 1993 c.e we understand the souls are ready en masse for this highest truth and many workers will be needed to bring this harvest safely in. The fruit of thousands of years of climbing by the souls and thousands of years of teaching by the masters, is coming to be now and will continue to increase for much time. It is now for us to abandon our comforts, and help the gardener, who in turn will supply us with nourishment through the winter.

Chapter 6
When Lord Brahma* gave man intelligence, He should have said, Use it or lose it! It is not that we should become skeptics or use our intelligence to rationalize our way out of belief in the Supreme Being. We should, by use of purified intelligence, see how only by the hand of Sri Hari*, could the visible and invisible worlds exist in such an amazing way. The phenomena we see in Nature, the permanently sustainable ecosystems, the ultra complex workings of our own bodies and the bodies of all beings. Youd have to be real short on the stuff up top not to believe somebody is behind this miracle somewhere. What we are complaining about is being sold a lie being asked to believe a heap of hogwash. We must use our brain to understand who is saying what to us and why? Are we working like dogs to give all our money and adoration to callous, selfish people, whose only interest in our existence, is for us to maintain them in the lap of luxury, while we sweat daily in return for a roof and some oat water. What is being said and by who? What is being fed to us through media channels that make us believe in the power of bureaucrats over our lives? What is being said that makes us believe that we cannot speak to and serve God directly? We need teachers, guides, gurus, politicians, presidents and press men to maintain a civilization. We need people between us and God or between us and chaos until we become in control of our own lives or have developed our relationship with God personally. These people are constantly bringing others to a level of social acceptability or to God consciousness and once they have established that, we are ever grateful, but they cannot stand always in front of the light and claim to be its source. They must be humble and do the work ascribed to them. If a teacher becomes a businessman then he is no longer a teacher, Page: 33

he is a businessman.

Page: 34

Chapter 7
The Book of Love hobbles on an almost lame book without momentum or drive like a de-vitalized human from the late 20th century. Mercury in its mouth, lethargic in the spiritual quest, too busy working for the survival of the physical, to receive and give the wondrous gifts of spirit.. But from time to time, energized in transcendental bliss or apparently somewhat lack luster, still the Book must comment even criticize or judge. For it is not only the sound of the mine that eats at the peace of the Earth, and friendly souls, but things like waste. Wasted food, wasted water but nothing wasted at the slaughter. Every scrap ground up to feed your cat and while its sleeping you can feed some poison to the rat.. Wasted food, wasted water what sort of teaching do you give to your daughter? People dying of hunger and thirst all the rest putting number one first. Half of us dont know any better the other half too conditioned by life habits up to now and it seems like were not going to survive but I know we will somehow. Ah, personally Im a little depressed by the diminishing return law, intrinsically linked to material existence especially apparent on this Earth. Once there was a seemingly unlimited quantity of trees covering the planet, but as the consuming masses of mankind expanded all over Her surface, they broke free from perfectional cycles because of desires and fear. Living in Eves garden a lush semi-jungle where theres always a tree somewhere laden with the perfect fruit Page: 35

for that very moment. Water springs from shaded rocks creating fertility and flowers wherever it flows. The main activities for hu-mans are collecting ripened fruits, creating palm and bamboo cottages and meditating. Most things are done in silence or in song where nervous birds and animals like deer approach the hu-men to seek protection from carnivorous balance keepers like tigers and wolves. All good things come to an end and fade for a time, like the sunlight at the end of day, and so hu-man expanded and needed more materials to keep the expansions happy. The womb, the cradle, was warm, no real need for clothing or thick walls between hu-man and the cold but it seemed back then a little crowded, so he crossed the mountains, cut a forest, built a house, made fire, burnt wood. He crossed the ocean in wooden ships and cut forests near and far. People with differences reside elsewhere and nature supplied the materials to wage war. The mountains were stripped bare when the rains came, there was no more sponge to soak up the water and release it later. Top soil washed away, flood and drought were created simultaneously. He was unable to flow any more with the perfect creation, which had been for so long, and was now showing deterioration due to the imbalance of hu-man. The demi gods had visited to give pure knowledge of all things including perpetual harmony and ecology, but hu-mans lower nature is a manifestation of a seemingly insignificant spiritual deviation. Independent desire from the will of the Supreme by forgetting souls, created a situation where once embodied, they were unable to exist in perfect harmony with anyone Page: 36

or anything anymore. The fall of man, the fall of the soul, the decline of nature, the approach of winter, all imitate some pattern created by the Supreme Lord. Much for these reasons we desire permanent residence in the all perfect spiritual world in love and harmony with their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Govinda and all other souls. Om..

Chapter 8
The Book of Love continues from the hut not knowing whether to write this down or speak it into a tape recorder. There is a tape recorder that works, and has batteries with a charge in them but were living in a hut with no electricity, and thought one day you could be too. Were not trying to wish anything upon you, that youd consider good or bad, but feel you might like this type of situation more than some others you may have experienced previously. The hut is basically warm and dry, and is equipped with a cellular telephone, futon bed, wheat grass juicer, wheat grass, a very efficient barrel (oil drum) stove, a wood supply, food, clothing, water and other necessities as well as rechargeable flash lights, scripture, deities, bhajan and other tapes such as Srimad Bhagavatam translated by Srila Prabhupada read by Amala Bhakta Dasa. Also there are beeswax and other candles in all kinds of shapes that we have made ourselves. There are several attractive rugs and wall hangings and plenty of light coming through the skylights. Deer wander through the field where the hut is located, but they live in fear of hunters and keep their distance. We grow our own vegetables, fruits and grains, keep cows and bees and have a couple of cats who come and go as they please. Sometimes the sun beats down and we are hot and thirsty. Sometimes, theres three feet of snow or packed ice and wind chill temperatures of minus twenty degrees. Sometimes its rainy and we slip and slide through the mud as we struggle to carry water, wood and food. How did we come to be here, in the Tee Pee Hut, in West Virginia, USA thinking about this book and wanting nothing material except for perhaps, a solar panel, water wheel and windmill to give us Earth-friendly energy. Page: 38

We wanted to live like this but can take or leave most opportunities, whatever the Lord wants suits me fine most of the time. So it was with the vivid dream of about five years ago that I seized a possibility being offered to me by the Supreme Lord. The dream was of a kind of tee pee in an area inhabited by deer. I was living in it with a cellular telephone hanging on the tee pee wall. The outside of the tee pee was covered in sticks and small branches, so I knew how simple Krishna wanted it to be. One time driving by the city center of Manchester, England, I saw a bill board at the edge of a piece of waste land with bold letters black on white saying, If you can dream it, You can do it. It stuck with me and we began to try manifesting our dreams. Not too long after that, a shopping mall appeared in that location so peoples dreams vary in outcome but manifestation begins with a vision. In one sense as I pick up the pen once again I feel like these are the last words of a dying man. Its not that I believe I am just about to die, but that I am aware how fragile the existence of the gross material body is. It would be foolishness on my part to assume there is a life time of activities lying ahead of me, when I can experience from the world around me, that countless people leave their physical bodies in the middle of working towards some goal, short term or long term. Neither do we cease to make a plan like planting fruit trees which will take years of care before the first fruits arrive, but we act in the very moment, in the here and now. It is only when our work becomes an offering for the Supreme that we can give our full effort in each moment and remain free from the desires Page: 39

to see the end of the project, or to achieve the results of the actions for our own purpose. If we act in full consciousness of each moment rendering service to the Supreme Lord, and other living beings, and we are aware of how we can be removed from the situation at any time, we can truly remain detached. In such a state there is no reaction due to the law of karma, and we can be set free to associate with the spiritual energy instead of being bound and covered by matter. Knowledge, material or spiritual, can be gained by studying and learning from books, but it can not be realized without ones being connected to a teacher or guru. In Bhagavad Gita, knowledge is described as jnana which is learnt, and vijnana which is realized. We can pick up the books of any teaching, and spend years assimilating them on an intellectual or devotional level, but until we come in touch with a master who has realized that philosophy, we ourselves are unlikely to be able to realize it. In this life, which is short and without meaning unless dedicated to the pursuit of Absolute Truth, there is no purpose in acquiring knowledge of any subject unless that knowledge is living truth which can set us free. For example, one can pick up a book on hatha yoga and begin to perform the postures described and illustrated within it, but even after much practice, if one goes to an advanced teacher, one will be awakened to the deficiencies of ones practice. The guru pushes us past our own self imposed limits, past the point where we feel discomfort and are prepared to stop. We can read The Book, but only by the grace of our gurus, can we ever hope to live the book. Page: 40

You can disagree with me if you need to. Coming down from transcendence into duality of good, so as not to bewilder those in duality. The Book is essentially a teaching, and there are, I know seemingly endless numbers of teachings, why is there any need for more? Well, thats a really good question. The reason is that almost all of them have neglected a significant part of the Absolute Truth. Those that havent, those who have the whole picture basically are speaking in a different language, or are giving such intense details that the whole picture can only be understood when the quest for knowledge is accompanied by some great endeavor or sacrifice. The knowledge cannot be simply learned from a book. The knowledge is in The Book, because it is not mundane but pure and transcendental, it is revealed in levels after one begins to satisfy the conditions laid out in The Book mostly when we say The Book, we are specifically referring to this book, but in this case we are referring to Bhagavad Gita, which is the ultimate source of this book. What was realized 5,000 years ago by Arjuna* when Krishna spoke His Book to him, is the same as realized 500 years ago, the same as realized 500 billion years ago, or just recently in our century. Arjuna is one of us, a soul, an individual spiritual being. This spirit is currently locked into the physical plane which is temporary and constantly flowing through dualities, beginning with creation and ending in destruction. When we transcend these dualities, we are situated in an unconditioned state where there is no right or wrong, just everything flowing in the loving energy of God. Thats okay to be There, and in the spiritual world everyone is There, but down here no one is. At least most of the time, or if one is at that level of evolution, Page: 41

it cannot be shown to the masses of conditioned souls, for they will surely fail to understand, and try to place a label on transcendence, using vocabulary drawn from duality. Transcendental language is here in this world along with stories, songs and prayers, all imported from the spiritual world. Like dreams, some people can wake up out of a dream and remember all of it, some can remember fragments, and others remember nothing at all. Yet science tells us that we all dream. Similarly, all of us have a past and future reality, with the Supreme Being in one of His three features as Brahman, Paramatma or Bhagavan. In fact, all these aspects of the Lord can be experienced right where we are now although it is much like a dream in that we can only access the Supreme in a limited way. Great souls, known in Buddhism as Boddhisattvas, are those who know the Absolute Truth and have no need to be here but stay on this Earthly plane for the exclusive benefit of others. They may be eligible for life in a heavenly realm within this universe or may be on their way to or from the spiritual sky. The spiritual sky is full of planets and there are spiritual forms beyond the formless effulgence or brahman, who emanates from the Personality of Godhead. Accepting the personal form of the Lord is the most challenging thing for our false ego, the part of us that keeps us thinking, we are temporary beings material bodies either physical or astral.

Chapter 9
The Book of Love expands by half moon light in the desert. Its such a serious book, full of philosophy and so on, that it sometimes feels silly to fill it with trivia and songs. However, it is what it is and will carry on. The problem is this... Its a question of time What shall we do with it? Obviously we spend a lot of it working, to buy food and pay rent but we get to skim off a little for ourselves and may wonder what to do with it. I had a gazillion things I wanted to do. I could have settled for any one of them. I saw the half moon sitting just above a peak, and it really looked like, if I could have got up that hill, I could have held it in my arms or at least easily have stretched out and touched it. Part of me was knowing that it was rapidly about to disappear, and saying, lets run and get the telescope its as close as its ever been or may ever be again. These ants are a hassle. I am a vegetarian, but I reserve the right to brush them off me when Im at home in the van. It gets to the point where they are felt all over the body, and if you look at that part, youll see one crawling. Anyway I lost my flow, Ill cut the story short, because theres things I need to be doing. In the end, I didnt see the moon real close up. I was glad I wasnt an outlaw when the cops pulled me over just outside of Kearny, AZ. No guns, no drugs, I havent been drinking. No restrictions, the lady said over the radio, and the cop who seemed very nice let me know. Nothing in the car that I should know about? he asked. I said no, but The Book, The tape, I wonder if he should know about those. One day he will. One day he will know all about it and so much more. One day that bright eyed soul, so sincere and gentlemanly, will become a self realized Buddha, a Brahma, a Mahatma*. No doubt about this. One day he will know. Page: 43

Im writing as usual by candle light and if I hold the candle nearby, hundreds of moths keep flying all over my arm. I cant begin to count the number of insects plunged to death in molten wax as we write. Again to the central theme about time and the use of it So much to do, so why do I write this down? For myself? Why should I worry about you, Buddha to be youll be there with or without me, with or without The Book. So many, many things to do, but instead I write for you in The Book, The whole purpose of The Book really is to lay a trail to this... To dig a garden for the flower of flowers briefly to say Hare Krishna. Thank you Lord, may we all be reunited in the spiritual world when were finally done, and Krishna knows when that will be. Coming back after a week away, everything was exactly how it was the moment I left, except for a few new letters on the desk. I was thinking on the way back how Id like to use some of my time to help you out in some way. I guess thats why Im here working on The Book and not staring at the disappearing moon. I know how precious your time is and I hope you understand this and how deep it is with meanings and interpretations its close to Spirit and getting closer as the voices of the world and the barking of dogs cease leaving only the hum of water pumps and the soundscape of nature dominated it seems by crickets. They all rise up to tell me you are not through the great day is yet to come. But Im miles behind in this work which I can only blame myself for or the lazy and confused sub-being which covers my pure soul. Of course without that covering you couldnt see or hear me even as you cannot see or hear the Lord. The inertia stems clearly from confusion so many golden doorways of opportunity to relay this globally important message and how do we get it out there without being detected Page: 44

because the truth about everything is what we would like to say and that wouldnt go down too well with almost everyone. Your own cool will be tested by The Book because its almost like a super addictive substance. If you allow Supreme Consciousness to access your logical thought space and your heart is searching for that highest manifestation of love you could get into this and dedicate a whole life to it. People who currently surround you may say you have lost it or you have been sucked into some kind of cult but in actuality you know fully the value of the teaching and can see through the un-focused and radical approach we have used to find Spirit who is directly behind all of this. Music, poetry, novels, movies, temples, drawings, cartoons, sculptures, paintings, displays and drawings in the sand that are now gone all contain the Supreme Truth hidden in there if we know how to look. So much contact with the vessel but that vessel unless it is pure and clean will cloud the essence it serves to carry. I am working for the Supreme Lord even though I am working for my own self too and of course working for Him is by the nature of the universal harmony it creates the same as working for the benefit of all living beings. Better than that even because working for the benefit of all living beings is only a theory when separated from God because we would be in an eternity of servitude to endless beings whereas the Supreme Spirit can give to all simultaneously and when we give to Him he can take that and pass it on to all its just love with Him thats all he wants thats what He gives thats all we need to feel in a state of ecstatic rapture far beyond a lesser condition gained with great difficulty and known as happiness.
