PUBLIC SPEAKING SPEECH THE IMPORTANT OF READING

The honorable Mr. Muhammad Nuh, the minister of Education of Republik Indonesia. Ladies and gentlemen. Good evening, First, I would like to thank the Master of Ceremony for giving me time to speak in front of you. Today Im going to speak about the important of reading. Before I begin to speak I want to ask some questions Do you like reading? How many books do you read in a week? Do you find the difficulties in reading book? Reading is one way for human sharing information. According to the Oxford Dictionaries, reading is a look at and comprehend the meaning of (written or printed matter) by interpreting the characters or symbols. We can read everything in everywhere. Book is not the only thing we read. Begin with a little thing around you. It could be magazine, newspaper, book, dictionary, short story, poem, article, encyclopedia, novel, advertisement, and etc. those all is a text we can read. It will improve our understanding. We can find a lot of information in all text we are reading. All history we know in the present time is known from the text that is written by our ancestor. Just imagine if they did not write we wouldnt know our history. That why it is very important to read and write. All missing parts of history were because of unwritten events.

Dr.Aidh Abdullah Al-Qarni in his book La Tahzan, explain the benefits of reading. There are a lot of it. They are: 1. Reading relieves anxiety 2. When busy in reading, someone will be blocked to enter into the foolishness. 3. Reading habits make people too busy to get in touch with the lazy people and unemployed person. 4. With frequent reading, people can develop flexibility and fluency in spoken words 5. Reading helps developed thinking and clear thinking. 6. Reading enhances one's knowledge and improves memory and comprehension. 7. By reading, people take advantage of the experience of others: wisdom of the wise and understanding of the scholars. 8. By often reading, people develop their ability; good to get and process science as well as to explore different disciplines and their application in life. 9. Reading helps a person to refresh his mind of clutter and save time for not in vain. 10. With frequent reading, one can master a lot of words and study the various types and models of sentence; further more he can improve his ability to grasp the concepts and to understand what was written "between the line upon line" (to understand what is implied). What I find most interesting about reading is thought reading is very useful, a lot of people avoid it. Is it right? Think about it once more time. And try to read more and more.
