Corporate structure Formerly part of FIAR SpA, the company was integrated in Galileo Avionica SpA in 2003. In April 2005, the activities of Galileo Avionica were grouped with those of BAE Systems Avionics in a new company, SELEX Sensors and Airborne Systems SpA (SELEX S & AS), under the joint ownership of Finmeccanica (75 per cent) and BAE Systems (25 per cent). In January 2008, the activities of Galileo Avionica and SELEX S & AS became a single organisation called SELEX Galileo. SELEX Galileo achieved revenues of EUR1,755 million with 7,050 employees in 2007. Products P-2090 Precision Approach Radar (PAR) The P-2090 is a development of the P-2080 PAR produced by FIAR before the Italian company was integrated in Galileo Avionica. Operating in the 9 to 9.18 GHz frequency band, two versions are available, the P-2090CF, a fixed base radar and the P-2090M, a mobile unit designed for rapid deployment and capable of being transported in a Lockheed Martin C-130 aircraft. There is full commonality between the two configurations except for the antennas, which comprise flat plate arrays and automatic deployment in the mobile version, and parabolic reflectors which are manually actuated in the fixed base model. The radar has a multiple runway capability and exceeds ICAO standard requirements. It has a fully coherent transmit/receive system with modes for long range, and utilising Doppler signal processing operates in heavy rain (up to 16 mm/h) and normal weather. A TFT 533 mm (21 in) display presents the glideslope in azimuth and elevation. Other features include a recording system, a fully redundant voice communications system and a power system.
