Unidad Curricular: Lengua Inglesa IV Formato: Asignatura Curso: 4to Prof. Juan Oscar Daz Ao 2013 Fundamentacin y enfoque
La materia se dictar teniendo en cuenta un enfoque comunicativo, con especial nfasis en el desarrollo del lxico y de las estrategias discursivas de los alumnos, siendo los temas mencionados en las Unidades de Contenido los empleados para desarrollar las cuatro macrohabilidades del idioma y los subsistemas fonolgico, lxico-gramatical y discursivo, y a la vez el vehculo a travs del cual debern demostrar su competencia comunicativa y su capacidad de interaccionar. El tratamiento del vocabulario a desarrollar en clase y por los alumnos en forma independiente se har siguiendo los lineamientos de especialistas como Lewis 1 (1993, 2000) y Nattinger y DeCarrico2 (1992) que sostienen que el lxico se adquiere y se retiene en la memoria en forma de "frases prefabricadas" (chunks) y que es esto lo que nos permite usar el idioma con fluidez y naturalidad. Adems se har un estudio de vocabulario que para los hablantes de espaol suelen representar problemas especiales, tales como pares de verbos transitivos e intransitivos, cognados y falsos cognados, colocaciones, frases idiomticas, etc, teniendo aqu la morfologa un nfasis especial. En cuanto a las macro-habilidades (hablar, leer, escuchar y escribir), se aspira a que el alumno desarrolle aquellas micro-habilidades que lo convierten en un hablante, oyente, lector y escritor competente, que sea capaz de usar estrategias aprendidas en clase, no slo en el idioma extranjero sino en el suyo propio y en otros mbitos distintos al del aula. De la misma manera, se espera que este desarrollo de diversas habilidades o destrezas le permita reaccionar exitosamente en situaciones socio-lingsticas inesperadas, en contextos diferentes y respecto a temas distintos a los tratados durante el perodo lectivo.

Objetivos generales
Al trmino del curso, los alumnos habrn: expandido su dominio del idioma ingls para desenvolverse en forma eficiente en situaciones sociales y de trabajo que requieran el uso del idioma tanto oral como escrito.

expandido sus estrategias de aprendizaje para su mejor desempeo en contextos lingsticos y sociolingsticos inesperados. desarrollado su habilidad para analizar crticamente lo que leen o escuchan. desarrollado hbitos de raciocinio, sntesis y relacin y reflejarlos en sus trabajos orales y escritos. internalizado las estructuras gramaticales bsicas incorporadas en cursos anteriores y familiarizarse con las formas ms complejas para as lograr un mayor grado de competencia comunicativa. desarrollado la receptividad y sensibilidad frente a aspectos del idioma tales como acentos, estilos, jergas y patrones culturales distintos. profundizado su conocimiento de la cultura de los pases de habla inglesa para as poder evaluarla crticamente y compararla y/o contrastarla con la suya propia. adquirir estrategias de monitoreo y autocorreccin para lograr no solo la fluidez esperable de un docente modelo del idioma que ensea sino tambin la precisin en la seleccin de recursos lxico-gramaticales segn diferentes contextos de situacin, temtica a tratar, y otras variables.

Objetivos especficos
Durante y/o al concluir el perodo de aprendizaje, los alumnos debern: ser capaces de discutir en forma oral y escrita los tpicos incluidos en las unidades temticas, y de hacer uso de vocabulario preciso y de distintos grados de complejidad relacionado con dichos tpicos. identificar ideas principales en un texto oral y transmitirlas a un oyente. realizar pequeas disertaciones sobre temas tomados de las reas cientficas y humanistas basadas en trabajos de lectura y/o investigacin. Dichas disertaciones, individuales o grupales, sern llevadas a cabo como complemento de las clases. prestar especial atencin a rasgos tales como orden lgico y cronolgico y relaciones de coordinacin, yuxtaposicin y subordinacin, a nivel gramatical y comunicativo tanto en sus exposiciones orales como trabajos escritos. reconocer los principios de la retrica inglesa y aplicarlos al escribir ensayos de acuerdo a modelos de organizacin aceptados en el uso acadmico del ingls y otros tipos de textos, tales como informes, cartas, artculos etc., que requieren un formato, organizacin y estilo particulares. poder discriminar entre distintos estilos - formal, neutro, informal - a nivel escrito y oral, y as seleccionar el estilo correcto en el cual formular sus respuestas orales y escritas. usar el material de lectura para el desarrollo general de sus conocimientos del ingls y como base de sus trabajos de composicin. Dicho material de lectura comprende no slo aquel asignado por el profesor, sino tambin aquel que el alumno mismo deber buscar en forma independiente. leer tanto para expandir su vocabulario y ampliar sus conocimientos del ingls como para desarrollar su capacidad de diferenciar ideas principales y secundarias. leer y reconocer el estilo, propsito - explcito o implcito -, actitud y connotacin del autor en un amplio espectro de textos originales. debatir y defender una idea y usar el idioma para lograr objetivos, resolver problemas, explorar las implicancias de una idea y formular propuestas. mejorar su compresin auditiva y discernir el nimo, los sentimientos y actitud del hablante, como as tambin las implicancias del tono de voz y la eleccin de vocabulario en los textos que escuchan.

ser capaces de identificar los temas e ideas principales de material grabado que no est relacionado con las unidades temticas, y de tomar notas de textos escuchados y redactar informes detallados cuando dichos textos estn relacionados con las unidades temticas. ampliar su vocabulario general y ser capaces de reconocer las connotaciones de distintos vocablos de la lengua inglesa, de distinguir los contextos en que pueden usarse y de seleccionar el vocablo que ms adecuadamente refleje sus pensamientos. desarrollar hbitos de auto-correccin de sus exposiciones orales y trabajos escritos. buscar y preparar material de lectura/escucha que ser presentado siguiendo lineamientos proporcionado por el docente.

Estrategias Metodolgicas
Escuchar y tomar notas, completar grficos, contestar preguntas, realizar ejercicios de seleccin mltiple, resumir informacin, llenar espacios, corregir aseveraciones falsas y seguir instrucciones. Escuchar y reconocer funciones, emociones y actitudes, inferir opiniones, evaluar evidencias y separar informacin de opinin. Leer y hacer resmenes orales y escritos, sistematizar informacin, realizar ejercicios de mltiple opcin, confirmar expectativas, analizar vocabulario, y corregir errores.

Hacer presentaciones orales de temas gramaticales asignados con antelacin por el profesor, y acompaarlos de ejercicios prcticos. Hacer presentaciones orales de contenidos del programa asignados por el docente. Resumir y narrar noticias de actualidad luego de leerlas y/o escucharlas. Participar en debates, formular propuestas y defenderlas, lograr consenso, en forma grupal o en parejas. Desarrollar temas y elaborar argumentos. Iniciar discusiones a partir de la lectura o investigacin de temas de inters general, asignados por el profesor y/o elegidos por el alumno. Usar el diccionario y otras fuentes, tales como el material de lectura y el de comprensin auditiva, para ampliar vocabulario, mejorar la diccin y completar ejercicios de sinnimos, antnimos, perfrasis, y "colocaciones". Escribir prrafos y ensayos aplicando los distintos mtodos de organizacin que el alumno conoce, y aquellos desarrollados durante el ao lectivo. Escribir distintos tipos de textos, respetando los formatos y las convenciones establecidas por la retrica del idioma ingls. Realizar ejercicios de simulacin e interpretacin de roles, poniendo en prctica las estrategias discursivas tpicas del ingls. Emplear giros idiomticos, marcadores de duda, pausas tpicas del idioma ingls en prcticas orales.

Evaluacin
Para regularizar la materia el alumno deber: - aprobar el 100 % de las 4 (cuatro) instancias evaluativas con una calificacin de 4 (cuatro) o ms, pudiendo recuperar hasta 2 (dos), las cuales debern tambin ser aprobadas en su totalidad con 4 (cuatro) o ms. - asistir al 75% de las clases dictadas, 55% para alumnos que trabajan (presentar certificado de trabajo) Importante: En caso de ausencia por enfermedad a una de las evaluaciones, el alumno deber entregarle al profesor de la asignatura un certificado mdico la primera clase que asista despus de la ausencia. Adems, el alumno realizar la evaluacin en la que estuvo ausente la primera clase que asista despus de su ausencia o cuando el docente lo disponga. Para acreditar (aprobar) la unidad curricular: - El alumno regular deber aprobar un examen final escrito y oral con 4 (cuatro) o ms - El alumno libre deber aprobar un examen final oral y escrito que cubrir todos los contenidos listados en el programa de la unidad curricular.

Criterios de Evaluacin
En algunas instancias evaluativas el docente a cargo de la materia informar a los alumnos si ciertas secciones de dicha instancia son excluyentes para la aprobacin de la evaluacin. Esto significa que la aprobacin de dicha seccin/actividad es requisito sine qua non para la aprobacin de la instancia evaluativa.

El alumno desaprobar instancias de evaluacin si comete de manera recurrente o es incapaz de corregir por s mismo algunos de los errores listados a continuacin (a estos errores se les debe agregar las listas correspondientes a los aos de cursado anteriores consultar al docente por estas listas). Double subjects like the problem it is... (wh- questions and yes/no questions) Wrong use of common collocations (like those using make/do). Basic ing and infinitive patterns Absence of pronunciation of the past participle in passive patterns Incorrect use of quantifiers Mixed tenses (present/past) Incorrect word order in question patterns Wrong choice of verbs of similar meanings (like those referring to voluntary and involuntary actions) see/look at, hear/listen to, say/tell Incorrect use of indefinite pronouns (some/any/no + body/one/thing) Wrong choice of participial adjectives (boring bored) Lack of assimilation and phonetic adjustments in some basic words, like soldier /sl.d/ Mispronunciation of sounds which make their speech unintelligible Lack of subject verb agreement. Pluralised adjectives Literal translations Errors in basic prepositional verbs like listen to, look at, arrive at Mispronunciation of vowel sounds and minimal pairs: // /d/; /v/ /b/ Wrong use of subject/object pronouns. Sugerencias o Requisitos Especiales de la Unidad Curricular


Los alumnos debern tener su propio material (libro de texto, apuntes entregados por el docente, cuadernillo de ejercitacin) y debern traerlos a cada clase de la asignatura. Es recomendable para poder tener una participacin activa en el aula y asegurar el aprendizaje y adquisicin de los diferentes aspectos de la asignatura, que el alumno aplique las estrategias de estudio sugeridas por el docente y que realice la ejercitacin asignada como tarea fuera de clase en los plazos establecidos. Los alumnos deben adoptar una actitud crtica y exploratoria hacia la asignatura, los contenidos y la metodologa de enseanza y aprendizaje. Se aconseja a los alumnos seguir lineamientos dados por el docente para descubrir su particularidades como educandos tales como estrategias de estudio, estilos de aprendizaje, administracin del tiempo de estudio y ejercitacin, etc. Se recomienda especialmente, debido a la gran cantidad de vocabulario a revisar/aprender, que el estudio sea realizado de manera continua, de clase a clase. Se espera el estudio de los contenidos y realizacin de actividades para las clases asignadas.

En muchos casos la correccin de actividades que no requieran un monitoreo de parte del docente no ser realizada en clase sino que se le proporcionar al alumno las herramientas necesarias para la autocorreccin. Sin embargo los plazos para la realizacin de las actividades es fundamental ya que se espera que el alumno incorpore dicho material en las actividades orales y escritas a desarrollar en clase. Debido al tipo de contenido y prctica que requiere la asignatura y la cantidad de elementos lxico-gramaticales a desarrollar, lo cual representa un trabajo de memorizacin, prctica, revisin y reciclado constantes, se recomienda una inversin de 6 horas reloj semanales como mnimo.
