18 jobs retained Consistent 98% ontime delivery QMS commitment inspired confidence in current and prospective customers

The Situation Guzman enjoys low employee turnover and a great corporate culture. Many of their 18 staff has been with the company for more than 25 years! They pride themselves on their people who are both local and extremely loyal. On the job and cross training is the norm. As well they are successfully deploying 2nd generation family leadership with Jorge Jr. Guzman, his brother Oscar and their father, Jorge Sr. Guzman who founded the company. Guzman was operating under an ISO compliant system but had never taken it to the next level. After deciding to get serious about registration they spent close to 2 years conducting research up and down the supply chain before pulling the trigger. Oscar Guzman, V.P. of Business Development knew they required assistance and coaching to prepare the company to successfully pass strict quality audits. Though not mandated to acquire ISO registration the company feels it validates the great quality and service they were already

The Situation (continued) providing. Guzman believes a registered Quality Management System proves a company is serious about its processes and that they care about personal accountability. A Google search led them to TMAC. Guzman was encouraged by TMACs non-profit status and 3rd party federal oversight. Guzman selected a management /steering team to meet weekly with TMAC Quality Specialist Ruben Hernandez. Together they evaluated and mapped out processes in every department from administration to production to

The Solution (continued) shipping and receiving and everything in between. Process owners were identified and homework assigned to be reviewed by Hernandez. Clevel commitment was sincere and evident from day one. Since Guzman was already operating as an ISO 9000 compliant company many components of the project went smoothly and at a quickened pace. During the project Guzman decided to go ahead and get their AS9100 registration concurrently. Since their customer base is so diverse, adding expertise in aerospace component manufacturing was a logical next step. Basic ISO 9000 and AS9100 training was provided to all employees. Others were selected for internal auditor training. With requirements reviewed, fine-tuned and met, vision and mission statements were revised and a complete

Guzman passed audits for both systems and is now registered to ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100 Rev C. Guzman receives inquiries at least once a week to quote on jobs other companies are reshoring back to the U.S. With their ISO 9000 and AS9100 systems in place they are positioned to take on this new business and sustain the business for future generations. TMAC worked with us to formalize and validate the systems we had in place. It is to our competitive advantage to have added the AS9100. We have great expectations and couldnt have done it without them. Oscar Guzman V.P. Business Development Guzman
