. Even though it states that the Arabs attacked first because Israel was small and shouldnt have existed in the first place. They agree on the parties involved with the exception of Egypt in Source B. B. Very Aggressive (source b). Also aggressive, but with reason. (Due to aggression of Israel against Palestine (source e). C. No evidence for the side of Israel for their reason for aggression. Each source claims the fault of their respective enemy. It is evident from our historical knowledge the reasons this would be. D. Accurate, but ignoring too many facets. Puts Israel to blame. Ignores actions by Egypt. Ignores causes of the Arabs states aggression. Source A O. British History book written in 1976 P. Give balanced interpretation of the question who was to blame for the War? V. Comes from more neutral source as both sides of the issue are taken into account. L. Weak because it was written very recently (respectively) after the war. This means that there is less time for hindsight and interpretation of details.

Source B O. Lebanese Arab Newspaper in May 1967 P. Show a visual representation of the current state of the Middle East at that time. The loaded guns were pointed at Israel and Egypt had a peace agreement with them. V. It is a primary source, representative of the time. L. It is in Arabic so I cant read it, meaning my interpretation is limited, however the message remains poignant.

From the Commander in Chief of the Egyptian armed forces, it is a clear, important source is interpreting the events of the Six Day War. Moreover, it Is a primary source. L. BIAS! It doesnt discuss why the Israelis attacked in the first place Nasser.

It was considered their Holy Land, which they never wished to be parted from ever again. Arab air force was destroyed. Israels borders were secured. After, they held the Gaza Strip, Golan Heights, Sinai, and the West Bank of the River Jordan. the Israelis achieved a brilliant military victory in June 1967. The Arabs had lost 15,000 men while the Israelis had lost less than a thousand. The Arabs had larger armies but their air forces were destroyed. The Arabs had modern Soviet missiles and other weapons but the Israelis had the most advanced US electronic equipment and were highly skilled and well trained. Above all, the Israelis believed they were fighting for their nation's survival. Felt more hostile than ever. Resentment towards Western Powers Increased trade with Soviet Union replace weapons lost. Still refused to recognize the state of Israel. Source A The boundaries werent going to be drawn as that would likely conflict with their own interest in keeping Jerusalem. Source B They would not respect the rights of the nation of Israel, just as the Israelis wouldnt acknowledge Palestine. Own knowledge years of fighting and bitter disputation wouldnt likely quell the rage that was being shown between the two. Moreover, the UN tried to intervene before and that still amounted to very little movement in terms of securing peace between the Arab nations and Israel.
