Eligibility for M. Tech - Ph. D. (Integrated) Admissions
A student to be admitted for the M. Tech- Ph. D. (Integrated) programs will be admitted for entry level admission to one of the following Degree programs under faculty of technology of University of Pune, from academic year 2012 13.

1. M. Tech - Ph. D. (Integrated) in Mechanical and Materials Technology

Eligibility : B. E. / B. Tech. or equivalent with 55% marks or equivalent (50% or equivalent for reserved category) from recognized University in Mechanical / Mechanical Sandwich / Production / Production Sandwich / Metallurgy / Industrial Engineering / Manufacturing / Materials. OR M. Sc. or equivalent with 55% marks or equivalent (50% or equivalent for reserved category) from recognized University in Physics / Materials / Material Science and valid GATE score. OR AMIE and valid GATE score in relevant branch of Engineering / Technology.

2. M. Tech - Ph. D. (Integrated) in Electronics and Electrical Technology

Eligibility : B. E. / B. Tech. or equivalent with 55% marks or equivalent (50% or equivalent for reserved category) from recognized University in Electronics/ Electronics and Telecommunication / Industrial Electronics /Electronics and Power / Electrical / Instrumentation / Electrical Drive and Control / Electrical and Electronics / Computer. OR M. Sc. or equivalent with 55 % marks or equivalent (50% or equivalent for reserved category) from recognized University in Physics / Electronics and valid GATE score.

OR AMIE and valid GATE score in relevant branch of Engineering / Technology.

3. M. Tech - Ph. D. (Integrated) in Chemical and Biotechnology

Eligibility : B. E. / B. Tech. or equivalent with 55% marks or equivalent (50% or equivalent for reserved category) from recognized University in Biotechnology / Chemical / Environment / Petrochemical / Polymer. OR M. Sc. or equivalent with 55% marks or equivalent (50% or equivalent for reserved category) from recognized University in Biotech / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Chemistry /Biophysics/ Life Science / Environment and valid GATE score. OR AMIE and valid GATE score in relevant branch of Engineering / Technology. OR B. Pharm. or equivalent with 55% marks or equivalent (50% or equivalent for reserved category) form recognized University.

4. M. Tech - Ph. D. (Integrated) in Computer and Information Technology

Eligibility : B. E. / B. Tech. or equivalent with 55% marks or equivalent (50% or equivalent for reserved category) from recognized University in Computer / Information Technology / Electronics / Electronics and Telecommunication / Industrial Electronics / Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation / Electrical and Electronics. OR M. Sc. or equivalent with 55% marks or equivalent (50% or equivalent for reserved category) from recognized University in Physics / Electronics / Computer / Mathematics / Statistics and valid GATE score. OR AMIE and valid GATE score in relevant branch of Engineering / Technology. OR M.C.M. / M.C.A. or equivalent in with 55% marks or equivalent (50% or equivalent for reserved category) from the faculty of Technology/ Engineering/ Science of the recognized University.

Eligibility for Ph. D. in Technology Admissions

A student to be admitted for the Ph. D. in Technology program will be admitted for entry level admission under faculty of technology of University of Pune, from academic year 2012 13.

Ph. D. in Technology Eligibility : M.Tech. /M.E./M.S. in the respective branch / Subject from recognized University.

NOTE: The ordinances, rules, regulations and other orders passed by the University of Pune for Ph.D. Degree shall be applicable to Ph.D. Degree in Technology.

Fellowships:
Industries can sponsor few students of M.Tech-Ph.D. (Integrated) and/or Ph.D. based on personal interviews from the students those who cleared the entrance test for the academic year 2012 13 of Dept. of Technology, University of Pune and shortlisted for the personal interviews. Interview committee will consist of persons from sponsoring industry and University of Pune. The tuition fees (Rs. 100,000/- per year) and stipend ( Rs. 24,000/- per month) will be paid by sponsoring industry. The students those who are not sponsored by any of the industries should pay the tuition fees ( Rs. 100,000/- per year) to the University at the time of admission. Such students are not entitled for the stipend or fellowship from the University of Pune.

Reservations
50% Seats of the total intake capacity are reserved for the students belonging to reserved categories from Maharashtra State only. Reservation is applicable only for Maharashtra domicile candidates (SC, ST, DT/NT, OBC categories) as per Govt. of Maharashtra rule. Caste certificate is essential for various purposes including the benefit of admissions, scholarship/freeship, Hostel etc.. Valid Non-creamy layer certificate is necessary for OBC, DT/NT category candidates at the time of final admissions. Entrance Test :
Entrance test will be based on the syllabus for B.E. / B.Tech. of University of Pune in respective branch.

Pattern of Question Paper: Paper ( I ) Time: one hour Section # A: Mathematics ( 10 Multiple Choice questions) Compulsory Section # B: Science ( 10 Multiple Choice questions) -- Compulsory Paper ( II ): Solve any Three Sections. Time: one hour 30 minutes. In the Question Paper, you will find three sections each of 10 multiple choice questions of your choice.

Method of Evaluation: Correct Answer = Marks (C) Questions Attempted = Marks (A)

Total Marks = ( 4C A) ( Same evaluation method for Paper(I) and Paper(II) ( You can score maximum + 150 marks or minimum 50 Marks)

Admission Rules
M.Tech- Ph.D. ( Integrated) Admissions will be based on 50% weightage to the entrance examination marks and 50% weightage to the personal interviews . Ph.D. (Technology) Admissions will be based on entrance examination and personal interviews.

How to Apply?
1. Please go through all the details of the subject of your interest by selecting the Course for which you wish to give an Entrance Examination. KINDLY FOLLOW ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN BELOW :

2. If you are a new user of this online system please select the subject of your interest (Select the subject for which you wish to give an entrance examination and click on Apply Online Button.) Once you select the subject of your interest, register yourself on the website by creating Account with Unique Username and password. This Username/password is very important for all further transactions. Please do remember your Username and Password you have created. 3. Once you are the registered user of this system, after clicking on the Link Online Entrance form you will be in a position to fill an Application form for an entrance examination of your desired Subject. a. Fill all the information carefully as per the given instructions. b. Once you fill all the details, click on the "Submit" button. c. Then you can see the preview of your filled Application form. On that preview there are two options Print and Update. d. Here if you want to update any filled information you can update it by clicking on Update button. Or else if your filled information is correct then take a printout directly by clicking on Print button.

4. Three payment modes are available i.e. Cash (at any branch of HDFC Bank Ltd. or Bank of Maharashtra) or Payment through Demand Draft of any Nationalized Bank or Online Payment through bank transfer. Please select any one of payment modes suitable to you. a) Cash: If you select payment mode as Cash, you will get 2 options for bank as HDFC Bank or Bank of Maharashtra. Choose any one you wish to pay through and click on Submit. Bank Challan will be get generated. Take print of this challan (by clicking link "Print Challan") and pay cash in cash counter of any branch of selected bank.

b) Demand Draft (DD): If you select payment mode as DD, then please enter the details of DD and click on Submit. Please note the DD must be drawn in the name of "To, The Registrar, University of Pune", payable at Pune city only, drawn on any of the Nationalized Banks. Please carry all the Information of DD with you for filling the online form. c) Online Payment: If you select payment mode as Online Payment, click on Submit, you will be get redirected to University Online Payment Gateway. Once you click on "Submit" you will be redirected to the Preview page. Please do not take printout of this Preview page. If you find any mistake or you wish to make any changes click on Update button. Click on "Confirm and Print" if all information entered by you is correct. Once you click on this link, you cannot update this information. University will receive your application form information only after pressing "Confirm and Print" button by you. 5. The student have to Post /Courier the following documents :

The Printout of His/Her Application form . DD (The Demand Draft should be drawn in the name of Registrar, University of Pune, payable at Pune and drawn on any Nationalized Bank) / Stampped receipt of Bank Challan / Online Payment Receipt (attached with Application form printform) All documents attached, which you have mentioned in your Application form and which are mentioned in "required documents" in that respective course details .

By Post/Courier on the detail address which should contain : Name of the department , Name of the "Head of Department" mentioned in the "Contact" details of that respective subject for which you are applying. If your form is valid (with all details, attested enclosed documents, true eligibility criteria) then the system administrator will approve your Application Form and the Administrator will issue the Admit card (Hall Ticket) by changing your status as Approved student. You can see your status by login to your account with the same Username and Password

chosen by you . 7. To take a printout of the Admit Card (Hall Ticket), Login to the Online System again with the same login details. 8. If your status is approved then by clicking on "Print Admit Card" Link you can take a printout of your Admit card. 9. Paste your passport size photograph on the space provided on Printout of Admit card and get it attested from Principal of any Senior College or Govt. Gazetted Officer. 10. Student has to come with this Printout of the Admit card at the time of the Entrance test Examination.
