Jumaa Prayer
for the Muslims of Africa and beyond
Intercede with Us for the Muslim World!
For the message of the cross is sheer nonsense for those who are lost, but for us who are being saved, it is the power of God (1Co 1:18, Sharif Bible).* Today we remember Jesus' death on the Cross for our sins. Muslims consider Jesus a great prophet, whom God would never allow to die in such a cruel fashion. They do not acknowledge the sinful nature of men. The Cross, therefore, makes no sense. As we celebrate Good Friday and Easter, let's pray that the power of the Cross will touch their hearts.

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students, Alumni, and Workers

BENIN: (1) Please pray for an upcoming evangelistic program that will take place in a strongly Muslim area. Pray that the Lord will prepare the hearts of people to receive His message, and for wisdom in the preparations. (2) A student asks us to pray for the salvation of family membershis mother, sisters, and uncleswho follow Islam. GUINEA-CONAKRY & MALI: Please pray for children who have attended or are attending AG schools in these countries. Many have accepted Jesus, but they live in Islamic homes and cannot attend church. Pray that Jesus will be their best Friend and that their faith in and love for Him will grow. In northern Mali, the children can no longer attend the school; pray that the Holy Spirit will minister to them. NIGER: Pray for a childrens camp in May. The children stay for several days, and there is often opposition. People throw stones and make disturbances so the children cannot eat. Pray that the Lord will protect the campers and leaders and that He will give them special favor with the neighbors. Pray that many children will respond to Jesus' love and have opportunity to share the Truth with their families. NORTH AFRICA: Pray for two workers in a sensitive country. One is a jazz musician and the other a schoolteacher. Both use their gifts to share the Good News with young people and children. Pray that the Lord will give them miraculous opportunities to reach ready seekers.

From Global Initiative**

Pray for the Muslims in Guyana. Despite being located in South America, 10 percent of the population in Guyana is Muslim. The first Muslims in Guyana were likely enslaved Fulanis, who worked on sugar plantations. People from Southern Asia were brought to British Guyana in the 1800s as indentured laborers. Most Muslims in Guyana are of Indian, Pakistani, and Afghan origin. There is much tension between groupsAfrican, Asian, and those who are Arabicized. For Muslim Women

Pray for women and girls who have been victims of rape. Many Syrian refugees in Lebanon and Jordan testify that the threat of rape was their main reason for fleeing. In Cairo, women avoid Tahrir Square, where organized gangs are paid to rape women who are seen as protesters. In northern Mali, rape is used to intimidate women and their families. Physical harm, shame, dishonor to the families, and forced marriages are the tragic results. Pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal the Father's love to these women, and that they will find healing for their bodies and spirits through Jesus.
