Q#1.A. Managers should do everything they can to enhance the job satisfaction of their employees. Do you agree or disagree? I perfectly agree that managers should do all the activities to create job satisfaction in employees because employees who feel that they are fairly treated by and are trusting of the organization are more willing to engage in behaviors that create job satisfaction in them. It helps organization in many ways and affects the performance of the organization in following ways. Productivity is generally higher in organizations with more satisfied workers. Satisfied employees have fewer absences. Satisfied employees are less likely to quit. Organizations take actions to cultivate high performers and to weed out lower performers.

Q#1.B Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using regular attitude surveys to monitor employee job satisfaction? ADVANTAGES: By identifying problems with communications, comfort and other business factors, employers can work to create positive change that benefits the company. Employee surveys allow you to identify problems within an organization Most businesses operate in a hierarchical manner. This can create situations where employees feel like they are unimportant or do not matter. It is a very cost effective way to discern certain new problems within the organization.

DISADVANTAGES: Conducting a survey to monitor the employees job satisfaction takes a long time Surveys are inflexible mode of inquiry. A person cannot ask the true reasons or opinions through a questionnaire as he can do so through an interview. Usually people do not co operate with surveyors. They either dont share the information or provide the wrong or biased information which may lead towards wrong conclusions. It may be hard for participants of a survey to recall information. He may not tell the truth about a controversial question.

Q#1C. What are following cultural dimensions applicable to Pakistani society? Power distance: Pakistan is a hierarchical society. This means that people accept a hierarchical order in which everybody has a place and which needs no further justification. Hierarchy in an organization is seen as reflecting inherent inequalities, centralization is popular, subordinates expect to be told what to do and the ideal boss is a benevolent autocrat Collectivism: In Pakistani society offence leads to shame and loss of face, employee relationships are perceived in moral terms (like a family link), hiring and promotion decisions take account of the employees in-group and has very positive effects like people in Pakistan are united for their country and its matters. Short term orientation: Pakistani people are more likely to involve in the past culture, norms and beliefs which they have been told by their old ones and always follow them and it is very hard for them to accept a change. Quality of life: Pakistani people pass a very normal life it may be due to availability of less resources or increase in inflation rate having no increase in salaries. Q#2. Happy Workers Are Productive Workers Do you agree or not? I may not agree with this statement that happy workers are productive workers. Although productivity may increase with the happiness of employee or its satisfaction but less satisfied workers may also be productive. Here the satisfaction also mean by the nature of employee. For example requirement of studies for a particular job is Intermediate but a person holding masters degree is been hired. The persons more knowledge may increase its productivity but it will not have impact on his satisfaction. Therefore happy workers may not be productive workers. Less productive people could also be satisfied worker.
