Second Bird Flu Death reported in China
Ministry of Health confirmed that a second person has died on Friday after having contracted the H5N1 influenza virus, also known as Bird Flu in Southwest Chinas Guizhou Province. A 21-year old woman also died in the same city on Feb. 13. The official Xinhua news agency has reported that both the victims had come in close contact with birds which was the most common means of Transmission.

Growing Number of Cancer Villages in China Mainland

Chinas Leaders Plan Government Revamp


According to a widely circulated map in China, there are more than 247 Cancer Villages throughout the mainland. Environmental Protection Agency admitted about the existence of such villages in China and they mainly blamed Air and Water Pollution for higher cancer rates among their residents. A Chinese university produced the map after their research into data and media reports. These villages are mainly located in Central Henan and eastern Jiangsu provinces. ..contd P-2 As part of efforts to streamline bureaucracy and boost economy thats recovering from the slowest growth in 13 years, Chinas leaders are considering to revamp the central government.
