Indoor Climate Systems from Hoval: More Benefit For You

The decentralised solution for ventilating, heating and cooling large spaces. Fresh air means quality of life. Comfort in large spaces is a fundamental condition of their cost-efficient utilisation. Setting-up the right indoor climate in large spaces is subject to complex requirements. This fact is taken into account by indoor climate systems from Hoval: These are modular, decentralised systems and hence extremely flexible in adaptation to the specific room use.

Low purchase costs. Right from the purchase of an indoor climate system from Hoval cost advantages arise: The patented air distributor called Hoval AirInjector works so efficiently that, in comparison with other systems, an air quantity about 25 % to 30 % smaller is sufficient to set up the required conditions. Therefore, a smaller plant can be installed resulting in lower investment costs. Unlike centralised plants, the decentralised system from Hoval normally works without supply More comfort. Indoor climate and extract air ducting. Consesystems from Hoval make for quently, space requirements and good air. Fresh air is injected into installation costs for ducts do not the room from the top through apply. patented, adjustable vortex air The indoor climate units are distributors. The occupied area is delivered fully assembled and prethoroughly ventilated without wired; therefore they are easy and causing draughts; a uniform temquick to install. The installation perature and air quality throughout under the ceiling or in the roof the room results. The people in the saves valuable floor space. The room feel well. The climate is ideal system is easy to extend or to for productive working, for relaxed adapt to changing operating reshopping, for an informative trade quirements. And the investment fair visit, for performing sports can be made in phases in sevexercises, etc. eral construction stages.

Low running costs. Indoor climate systems from Hoval are masters in saving energy. They reduce undesirable temperature stratification in the room, lowering heat loss through the roof to a minimum value. And thanks to the high ventilation efficiency, the overall air quantity that needs to be handled and treated is smaller, saving electrical drive power and lowering ventilation heat requirements. Also the extract air energy is utilised depending on project-specific requirements units with mixed air operation or with energy recovery are used. Specially developed control systems, tailored to the decentralised system, reliably ensure the optimum use of energy resources and thus lowest running costs. Problem-free servicing. Servicing and maintenance works may be carried out during normal working hours; it is not necessary to switch of the whole plant. Environment-friendly. Indoor climate systems from Hoval are environmentally sound thanks to their responsible usage of energy. Also the use of low-emission fuels and the utilisation of condensation technology for heat generation reduces the effect on the environment.

Indoor Climate Systems from Hoval: The Tailor-Made Solution

Construction and function. Indoor climate systems from Hoval have a modular design principle. An installation comprises several self-contained units with air flow rates up to 10'000 m/h (about 2.8 m/s). There are different unit types, that may be combined depending on project-specific requirements to form the optimum, ideally suited solution for the individual application: RoofVent units are roof ventilation units providing fresh air supply and extract air removal. They heat and cool the supply air via built-in heat exchangers, save energy by heat recovery or mixed air operation and even may be equipped with a facility for decentralised heat or cool generation. TopVent units are recirculation or supply air units for heating and cooling in recirculation, mixed air or fresh air operation. The TopVent curtain is used as an air curtain. The Air-Injector is a patented, adjustable air outlet providing efficient supply air distribution. It is part of nearly all Hoval indoor climate units; yet it is also available as a separate component for fitting to air ducts.

The individual units are decentrally, i.e. spread around the room, installed under the ceiling or in the roof. This arrangement provides decisive advantages: Thanks to the air distribution from high to Wall heating Hoval system low level undesirable temperature stratification and thus heat loss through the roof is significantly reduced. No air ducts which are difficult to clean are needed; therefore the supply air stays clean and hygienic. Air supply from above reduces temperature Thanks to the use of several self-contained stratification air handling units the system is very reliable and easily adapts to changing operating conditions. Tailor-made control system. The DigiNet is a control system that has been specially developed for Hoval indoor climate systems. It takes into account all specific requirements for energy-saving operation as well as Hoval's long experience with decentralised ventilation plants. The DigiNet has been developed in close collaboration with Siemens, who also supply the hardware components. With DigiNet each ventilation unit is individually controlled, i.e. the decentralised idea is consistently followed through in the control system.

Range of application. Indoor climate systems from Hoval provide fresh air supply and extract air removal as well as heating and cooling in large spaces. They are ideally suited for application in assembly and production halls, high racking warehouses, aircraft hangars, shipyards, maintenance workshops, shopping centres, do-it-yourself stores, exhibition halls, indoor swimming pools, etc.

Air-Injector
Automatically adjustable vortex air distributor The Air-Injector introduces supply air at various temperatures and flow rates into the occupied area of high spaces, without causing draughts. This is achieved by means of a controllable vane arrangement allowing continuous adjustment of the air discharge angle between vertical to horizontal.

TopVent HV
Recirculation unit heater for rooms with up to 6 m height The TopVent HV is the simplest unit in the Hoval indoor climate family. It has been developed for cost-efficient heating of rooms with up to 6 m height. The unit is installed under the ceiling. It takes in room air, heats it by means of the heater battery and injects it back into the room via individually adjustable guide vanes. The unit is available in three sizes, each with a two-speed fan as standard so that altogether six different heat outputs can be selected. The optimum use of energy and thus cost-saving operation of the units is ensured by the specially developed TempTronic room temperature controller.

The air distributor is adjustable to changing operating conditions: manually by means of a remote hand control and actuator or automatically with the VarioTronic electronic control. The Air-Injector is suitable for installation on supply air ducts or in ventilation units. It is a core component of the Hoval indoor climate systems.

TempTronic wall unit

The TopVent curtain is a recirculation unit heater with special outlet nozzle; it is used as an air curtain for doors of up to 6 m height. Several TopVent curtain units (depending on the door width) are fitted above the door. The units draw in room air, heat it and blow it downwards. The air curtain so generated minimises external influences on the indoor climate. It prevents cold air from entering and increases the useful floor area in the space. The units are equipped with two-speed fans as standard. The corresponding control unit allows for manual or automatic control.

TopVent DHV
Recirculation unit for heating high spaces The TopVent DHV has been specially developed for application in high spaces. Thanks to its powerful and efficient air distribution the unit heater covers a large area. Therefore fewer units are needed, allowing lower investment and installation costs. Three unit sizes, two-speed fans, different heater battery types and a whole string of accessories provide a tailored solution for each application. The TopVent DHV can even be extended to a supply air unit. Furthermore, also special batteries (steam, electrical heating) are available.

TopVent DKV
Recirculation unit for heating and cooling high spaces The TopVent DKV is similar to the recirculation unit heater TopVent DHV, but it can be used for cooling as well as heating. The major difference is the built-in condensate separator. In addition, the unit is insulated to prevent condensation on the outside of the casing. The TopVent DKV, too, is available with numerous output ratings. A wide range of accessories allows for adaptation to different requirements. For quick and easy design detailed planning documentation can be supplied. Take advantage of the extensive experience of the Hoval technical advisory service.

TopVent commercial
Roof unit for ventilating, heating and cooling supermarkets The TopVent commercial creates the right indoor climate in hypermarkets and supermarkets. It has been specially designed for this application: The units are easily and quickly installed in the roof with the corresponding roof frame. They do not protrude far into the room and maintenance works are carried out from roof level. Special sound insulation ensures particularly quiet operation. The unit is available in two different designs: TopVent commercial AU for heating and cooling in fresh air, mixed air or recirculation operation TopVent commercial UM for heating and cooling in recirculation operation

RoofVent LH
Roof ventilation unit with optimum fresh air rate The RoofVent LH unit provides air supply and extraction as well as heating and cooling in large spaces. It makes use of the extract air energy in mixed air mode. The DigiNet control system, which has been specially developed for Hoval indoor climate systems, constantly optimises the fresh air rate: just as much fresh air is taken in as necessary to maintain the room temperature without additional heating or cooling. A minimum value can be set. Therefore the RoofVent LH is a good choice for applications where fresh air is desired but not necessary on a large scale. If more than 40 % of fresh air is constantly required, then a unit with heat recovery is more economical.

RoofVent LHW
Roof ventilation unit with heat recovery The RoofVent LHW ensures fresh air and the correct room temperature in large spaces. The unit incorporates a highly efficient plate heat exchanger that recovers energy from extract air and transmits it to the fresh air. Air supply and extraction. The RoofVent LHW injects fresh outside air and extracts stale room air. Depending on the heat demand, heating and heat recovery are controlled. Recirculation. When no fresh air supply is required (e.g. during the night or for preheating in the morning), the space is heated in cost- and energysaving recirculation mode.

RoofVent condens
Roof ventilation unit with condensing gas boiler The RoofVent condens performs similar tasks to the RoofVent LHW. Its speciality: The ventilation unit includes a high efficiency condensing gas boiler with modulating burner. Thanks to this decentralised heat generation facility no plant room is needed. Connection to a central boiler system is unnecessary; hence the installation costs are lower. When the RoofVent condens is at work, triple energy-saving takes places: The condensing boiler guarantees highest efficiency in heat generation. The plate heat exchanger recovers energy from extract air. At very low outside temperatures the unit switches to mixed air operation.

RoofVent direct cool

Roof ventilation unit with single-split cooling system The RoofVent direct cool is used for air supply and extraction in large spaces. It is similar to the RoofVent LHW, however it is equipped with a single-split cooling system for decentralised cooling. Instead of a LPCW cooling coil, an evaporator coil is installed in the roof ventilation unit. A condensing unit is fitted nearby on the roof. Consequently, a centralised cold supply in the form of a water chiller is unnecessary. The RoofVent direct cool may be utilised for heating as well: a separate heating section with LPHW or electric heater battery is installed in the ventilation unit.

Optional: Filter box and mixed air box
