What is Gauging? What is Gravity?

Fundamental interactions are of three kinds only

Electroweak Strong Interactions Gravity

First two interactions are described in terms of a gauge theory We are trying to seek a theory of gravity so that all interactions of nature can be described in a similar way

What is Gauging? What is Gravity?

What is a Gauge Theory of Gravity

The answer to the question as to why all things that go up eventually get down was sought by philosophers of antiquity like Aristotle A lot of difference between the philosophies between today and those days
empirical observations v/s dialects

Galileo changed this once and for all, empirical data is ultimate test of a particular theory Kepler systematically interpreted a large amound of data and concluded that three simple rules were observed in the data
the orbit of planets around sun in elliptical areal velocity is constant throughout the motion T 2 R3

What is Gauging? What is Gravity?

What is Gauging
If inverse square law is assumed then he showed that all the empirical ndings of Kepler can be derived F= GMm r3 r

But it wasnt digestible that how objects interact at a distance without any physical contact, so eld concept was introduced Thus gravity is the eld induced by a gravitational charge around it, and all other objects feel a force due to this eld This with the equation of motion, that is the interaction of other particle once the gravity is generated by other F =m a gives the trajectory of the particle

What is Gauging? What is Gravity?

What is Gravity?

It assumes that the signal between two bodies interacting gravitationally travels at innite speed which doesnt seem feasible Doesnt seem to reconcile with Maxwells equations that were so successful for explaining EM phenomenon

Introduction to the Poincar Group

Published Special Relativity in 1905, that dealt with only inertial frames of references with Sought answers for general frame that might be accelerating Principle of equivalence states that there is no way in which one can identify a uniformly accelerating frame and uniform gravitational eld Can be reduced to Newtons gravity in weak mass limit

My Work
Postulates of Special Relativity are inherent in it
Speed of ligh is constant in any frame of reference Principles of physics are same in each an every frame of reference

Gravity is the curvature in spacetime geometry due to the presence of charge in it

Spacetime is a four dimensional manifold with a metric signature (, +, +, +) instead of the usual (+, +, +, +) of 4 Gravity is a kind of eld that unlike electromagnetic eld which exists in spacetime, but rather it is inherent in the spacetime itself, the curavture of whose leads to gravity

Einsteins equation of gravity R 1 2 g R = 8G c4 T . (1)

Right side contains the information of mass and left hand side information about geometry of spacetime

Future of the Theory

Future lies on experimental ndings In equation (1) R and R are Ricci tensors and scalars respectively formed from the metric tensor and its derivatives. When the matter distribution becomes zero then we can prove that R = 0 everywhere which is what a signature of at spacetime.[4]
