Pratham Education Fellowship

The Pratham Education Fellowship is a full-time, paid commitment that aims to develop talented graduates and young professionals into leaders within the education sector of India. Fellows will work in various different roles, directly impacting low-income schools. The fellowship program provides a challenging opportunity with on the ground experience in implementing large-scale education interventions. Pratham will provide fellows with rigorous initial training followed with ongoing skill and leadership development. There are 2 different types of fellowship opportunities available Management Fellowship and Training Fellowship. In the upcoming year both available fellowships will be on the Learn Out of the Box Project; a Pratham and Vodafone Foundation initiative to bring educational technology as a teaching tool to low-income classrooms. Remuneration: Fellows will receive a monthly stipend between Rs. 18,000 27,000 (based on experience). Additionally all travel expenses during the fellowship will be covered by Pratham.

Management Fellowship (2013-2015) This fellowship requires a 2-year full-time commitment, and places fellows in a program management role. Fellows will be responsible for managing the operations of the program within their assigned state, including: Roll out and launch of the program in 100-150 schools; Managing a field team of 7-10 Regional Program Associates; Monitoring the progress and implementation of the project across the state; Managing the financial operations and state budget; Technical and logistical troubleshooting; Providing detailed reporting to the Pratham Central Team. Additionally, in the second year fellows will conduct a needs assessment, to design a program proposal that aims to improve any one element within their assigned schools and communities. A selection of the best programs proposed by fellows will then be implemented in schools across all locations. All fellows will undergo a rigorous pre-service training. Additionally there will be ongoing workshops and mentoring throughout the course of the two years. There will be the option of a one-year extension based on budget and requirements. The qualifications and skills we are looking for in Management Fellows are: Bachelors/Masters degree in any relevant discipline. 2 years work experience in an operations or management role preferred. Fluency in written and spoken English. Good working knowledge of the local language. Excellent communication and presentation skills. The ability to support and manage a team.

Training: There is a 1 week training in Mumbai from 15th April 2013 to 20th April 2013 thats mandatory.

Management Fellowship Locations: Lucknow/Patna

Training Fellowship (2013-2014) This fellowship requires a 1-year full-time commitment and aims to develop fellows into Master Trainers. Teachers lie at the centre of most education programs and teacher training is the most critical element of all successful ICT interventions. Therefore Training Fellows will play an essential role in ensuring the program impact. Fellows will work directly with teachers across multiple locations, providing both training and ongoing support. More specifically, fellows will be responsible for: Conducting teacher training in all locations across their assigned state; Implementing a teacher training certificate program; Creating a network of community support and engagement; Designing a process to individualize the support system to meet the needs of individual teachers; Collaborating with state teams to provide teachers with adequate ongoing support. Fellows will undergo a rigorous pre-service training program. They will also receive ongoing support and development throughout the course of the year. The qualifications and skills we are looking for in Management Fellows are: Bachelors/Masters degree in any relevant discipline. 2 years experience in a teaching or teacher training position Fluency in spoken English & Hindi. Good working knowledge of the local language is preferable. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Very high energy level and the ability to support and motivate others. Training: There is a 1 week training in Mumbai from 20th May 2013 to 25th May 2013 thats mandatory. Training Fellowship Locations: Delhi/Lucknow/Ranchi/Hyderabad

Successful candidates will be informed within two weeks of application. Step 2: Initial Interview A telephonic or video interview to determine your fit with the project and team. Step 3: Case Study A written case study or training demonstration. Step 4: Panel Interview An in-person interview with a panel from the Pratham team.

Deadline: Rolling basis, however please do refer to the mandatory training dates for the different fellowships.
