When you care more if someone lives more than you do about yourself..is that what loves like?
CANCER. A six-letter word that makes our world upside down, but do you know what cancer is? Do you know what kind of sickness cancer is? Are you aware of its symptoms? Cancer might turn our lives from inside out, but when this sickness is thrown into our life, the one thing worthy of doing is to have faith- to have faith in God, to have faith in the future, and to have faith that all will be alright. Death is a possibility, but then, when one forgets to have hope and to have faith, its just the same as facing death. This sickness is one of the scariest things that can happen to a person and to those whom we love, yet when one can overcome a challenge as big as cancer, it just goes to say that, that person is a fighter, for one cannot be a fighter without facing a trial and this trial in anyones life is far tougher to overcome than anything. Cancer is a disease in which the cells of the body altered and grow uncontrollably. They continuously divide (over division) while cellular reproduction occurs repeatedly without end. More typically, it refers to diseases which cells grow abnormally into tumors. My Sisters Keeper is a story that will show us the world that is hidden beneath those white robes of doctors, of those cancer patients, and of all those cancer patients families. The story is about a mothers love for her sick daughter, forgetting that she has two other children that also need her love and attention. The sick child is the eldest, Kate. Anna, the youngest, is suing their parents for the rights to own her body. Their parents are using body parts taken from Anna to help Kate who has leukemia. So she decided to litigate her parents for medical emancipation when she is expected to donate a kidney to her sister, Kate. Leukemia is the cancer of the blood. It develops when the blood stem cells in the bone marrow make abnormal blood cells. A person who has leukemia suffers from an abnormal production of blood cells, generally leukocytes. Over time, the leukemic cells crowd out normal blood cells. This makes it hard for the white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets to do their jobs. The DNA of immature blood cells, mainly white cells, becomes damaged in some way. This abnormality causes the blood cells to grow and divide chaotically. Normal blood cells die after a while and are replaced by new cells which are produced in the bone marrow. The abnormal blood cells do not die so easily, and accumulate, occupying more and more space. As more and more space is occupied by these faulty blood cells there is less and less space for the normal cells - and the sufferer becomes ill. Kate has acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), a form of acute myeloid leukemia, a cancer of the bloodforming tissue (bone marrow). It is caused by an arrest of leukocyte differentiation at the promyelocyte stage. People with acute promyelocytic leukemia are especially susceptible to developing bruises, small red dots under the skin (petechiae), nosebleeds, bleeding from the gums, blood in the urine (hematuria), or excessive menstrual bleeding. The low number of red blood cells (anemia) can cause people with acute promyelocytic leukemia to have pale skin (pallor) or fatigue.

Anna is a vitro child, saying that shes engineered; purposely created to be spare parts for Kate. Doctors started taking body parts from her the moment she was born. Kate is tired and wanted to rest already while Anna is tired too of donating body parts to her sister Kate. Anna feels that she was just put to earth to save the life of her sister. She wants to be important too like her sister and live a normal life. Anna won the ease and eventually died. If I were Anna, I would have done the same thing but not to the point of litigating my parents. Of course, every child wants to be important. Every child seeks for their parents attention, time, and love. Anna, feeling unimportant, cannot take it anymore, making her made an unexpected action which intends to make her parents realize that Kate, her sister, is not the only one suffering. Kate, on the other hand, already wants to rest for she knows that her sister is hurting and that she will eventually die. This story is truly inspiring. It talks about familys real-life situation and most importantly, promotes awareness about people having cancer and the difficulty they are going through.
