Report of Interview due on Monday March 4 Oral reading book - Zoro; Students will continue to develop their French vocabulary and reading comprehension as we read aloud Introduction of our language unit on "Une histoire raconter" - "A story to tell" Grammar: Unit 7 and 8 Journal writing: Students will write on a topic of their choice Independent reading continues- Students are reading French literature in class and are keeping track of their reading on a class diagram. They are questioned orally on their reading and collect tickets for a second draw which will take place just before March break. They are encouraged to bring French books at home to increase their reading time. Student will continue to develop oral communication skills through daily discussions on a variety of topics

We have been working on: Our 40 book challenge Experimenting with the program Fakebook to create a book report writing a 5 paragraph essay using personal knowledge and experiences based on a planning template summarizing non-fiction articles exploring Canadas links to the rest of the World (Social Studies) Identifying conventions and techniques in thematic maps (Social Studies) Exploring some of Canadas links to the rest of the World (Social Studies In March, we will: continue the 40 book challenge share class novel Hatchet by Gary Paulsen distinguish between editing and revising while completing a 5 paragraph essay identify problem-solution text pattern and use it in our writing learn about some of the contributions Canadians have made in the world

This month we are learning about electricity and energy


brief history of electricity - static electricity evaluate the impact of the use of electricity on both the way we live and the environment investigate the characteristics of static and current electricity, and construct simple circuits demonstrate an understanding of the principles of electrical energy and its transformation into and from other forms of energy
