Wha t a re the be s t a sp ects of your inte rnship ? Mainly, I chose to do an internship to better understand what kind of job I would enjoy after I graduate. I also really wanted to understand how a job in the "real world" works and how to be a strong employee in my field of study. My favorite thing about my internship is having my opinion and input matter and make a difference in a real project that will actually be used by a business. I also really enjoy the people I work with. Wha t skill s are y ou dev el op ing ? Through my internship I'm learning the steps involved in actual business functions. I would say to start the application process early especially if you are looking to apply an internship to class credit. Also be prepared to work hard to show your employer your value even as an intern.
Coles College Career Services has resources that students may not even know exist. EMILY DONADEO, a Marketing Intern for THREE DAY MEDIA, posted her resume on KSUs OWLLINK and had several interviews from that site. She eventually earned her current internship through a mass email from Kathy Hallmark after her employer posted the position on the Coles College Internship & Co-Op Facebook page. Use your college resources and if you dont know what those might be, visit the Coles College Career Services Lab and remember to read the COLES CHRONICLE each week to learn all about the possible ways to get your name and resume into the right hands. Getting an internship is very much like getting a job. If you follow these tips, you will have your resume in the hands of the right people. Dont just hope an internship will land in your lap.
