What is Light Gauge Steel Framing System?
Light gauge steel framing refers to the use of precision roll-formed steel studs to create the framing structure of any building. The efficient construction method provides a strong and tight building package and lends itself to green building practices, as steel is 100% recyclable. Galvanised steel framing also offers contractors a material that does not warp, and is both waterproof and fireproof. Many multi unit buildings can be constructed from light gauge steel framing e.g. schools, hospitals, hotels, offices, residential and other commercial mid level buildings.

Offers a Fast Track building solution. System quality tested in conjunction with British Gypsum. The building can be made weather tight at an early stage in the construction programme which allows internal fit out to proceed while the external finish is applied. Supremely versatile, ease of build, high-speed construction and significant reduction in dead loadings all combine to enable tight deadlines to be achieved, and overall programme and project costs reduced. Steel frame forming external walls can be faced with most types of cladding and external veneers including brickwork. The system can meet the most onerous fire, acoustic and thermal performance criteria as there are complimentary products (e.g. Gyproc and Glasroc board and lining specifications). Lightweight dry construction. Pre-fabrication on or off site. Achieves high thermal and acoustic performance. Gives lateral support to most external cladding materials. Minimises wet trades on site.
