Methodology
1) Create your profile on LinkedIn using your ISCOM email address. 2) Join the LinkedIn Group for this class: ISCOM Montpellier Intro to Social Media.
3) You should also join three other English-language groups, plus the ISCOM group (French).
Methodology
4) Start connecting to classmates, colleagues, companies, etc... in order to begin growing your professional network. 5) You will be required to post an update in English of at least 2 sentences to the class group twice a week (Monday and Friday). Each post should state an opinion, give an analysis, or add value in some way. You should share content (links to articles, blog posts, videos, etc.) that you find on your other groups or in your usual online activity or create your own. You will also need to add at least two comments a week to at least two of your classmates' posts, again with a focus on adding value. (For example, one-word comments stating Cool are not acceptable.)
Methodology
6) You should take a screen capture of every one of your posts and comments, adding them in chronological order to a PowerPoint or other kind of presentation document. Keep a current version of this working document on the ISCOM Campus group for the class. The final document will be due the last day of class and will be used to calculate your project grade.
Methodology
7) On the last day of class, you will present your professional brand in front of everyone (five minutes). You will prepare a one-slide infographic summarizing your activities, with appropriate screen shots/graphics, including a list of: the groups you have joined, the number of connections you formed, the content you added and the value you gained from commenting and interacting with your classmates. Your remarks should focus on where you were at the beginning, how your network evolved and why. How do you think your profile has enhanced your online image? This slide should be uploaded as a PDF the day before the final day of class. 8) The project will serve as your contrle continu. Activity above and beyond the requirements above will be considered in the assignment of bonus points.
