TECHNICAL REMITS RELEASED

2013 is a rulemaking year, with the final discussions and voting occurring at the AGM in June. The process kicked off back in October last year, when Technical remits were submitted for the Stockcar, Superstock, Saloon, Streetstock and Modified classes. Since then the relevant Technical Committees have been poring over the remits, and they have now had meetings or conference calls to report back their recommendations. Some of the remits have been amended, some have been deleted, and many have been put forward as worthy of voting on at the AGM. The remits are now available for downloading by anyone who is interested. They include 4 racing number remits, 11 Saloon, 8 Modified, 6 Superstock, 5 Stockcar, 4 Streetstock and 2 Wheel remits, plus full rewrites of the Stockcar and Superstock classes. Feedback then comes back to the Technical Committees who make a final decision on the wording of each remit by May 12. The full timeline for the Technical remits is below:March 18 Remit Meeting 1 called to discuss the draft rule changes April 2 Proposed amendments to be sent to SNZ (80 days prior) May 12 Finalised proposed rule changes circulated (40 days prior) May 20 Remit meeting 2 for competitors to discuss the final proposals June 21-23 2011 AGM remits voted on by delegates from the relevant tracks Just a reminder too that the deadline for proposed rule changes to the constitution, equipment, safety and racing rules is Monday 22 April. These can be submitted by any SNZ member, directly to the SNZ Office.

TECHNICAL COMMITTEE MEMBERS WANTED!

Every class has a Technical Committee, to provide guidance and advice to the Board before a technical interpretation is issued. They also are responsible for vetting the technical remits in the Stockcar, Superstock, Saloon, Modified and Streetstock classes. Technical Committees are elected every two years at the AGM, and nominations are now open. Each Committee has a maximum of four technical specialists (who cant be competitors in the class), and one competitor representative (who must be). SNZ needs a wide variety of experts to fill the committees, so if youve got what it takes or know someone who does, then its important they apply. A Nomination form can be downloaded, with applications closing on Monday 22 April. http://www.speedway.co.nz/pdf/2013%20Nomination%20Form.pdfUBLIM
