Reporters and Law students who are eager to protect the Constitution of India. The council is holding Seminars, Conferences, and Symposiums in different parts of the country. Its Functions are being attended by Presidents of India, Prime Ministers of India, Vice Presidents of India, Chief Justices of India, Cabinet Ministers, Governors, Chief Ministers, and Parliamentarians. Foreign Senators and Congressmen, Judges, Bar Leaders are regularly attending its Conferences in different parts of the country. Aims and Objects To uphold the Constitution of India and the representative, free and democratic form of the Government and to uphold and promote the Rule of Law and social justice; To promote the science of Jurisprudence and to encourage and conduct research and investigations in legal and allied fields; To promote the reforms of the administration of justice and of law and its healthy development, suitable to the social, economic and other needs of the people; To promote uniformity of the legislation and of the judicial decisions throughout the country; To uphold the honour, dignity and the independence of the Bar and the Bench, jurists, teachers and students of law and members of the press; To assist the Bar in upholding its rights and the dignity in its relations with the executive, judiciary and legislation; To apply the knowledge and the experience in the field of law for the promotion of the public good; To promote and protect the privileges, interest and prestige of the Council and to promote union and co-operation and solidarity among the advocates practicing in different courts; To take measures for the provision of free legal aid to the poor and the establishment and maintenance of a system of prompt and efficient legal advice for persons irrespective of their income; To coordinate with the non-governmental organizations, government organizations, statutory organizations, international organizations to disseminate, impart knowledge or legal education to the public at large; To improve the standard of legal education in India; To establish legal institutions, educational institutions and ancillary institutions throughout India and abroad; To set up a code of professional conduct, discipline and etiquette; To improve relations and cooperation between the Bar and the bench, between the Bar and the public, and the Bench and the public and between the international Bench, Bar and the jurists and the Bench, Bar and the jurists of other countries and also with the press, teachers of law and law students;

To take measures with a view to provide an efficient system of law reporting and promote publication of works on law; To work in cooperation with other societies, institutions and organizations, (national or international) in the pursuit of all or any of the aims and objects of the Council; To promote, organize and participate in national and international events and organizations of jurists, judges, lawyers and law teachers, law students and the press; To constitute or cause to be constituted State level State Council of Jurists in every state in India and Union Territory Council of Jurists in every Union Territory in India and District Council of Jurists in every district in India to promote the activities of the Council; To conduct and hold seminars, symposia, conferences, rallies, and to carry out protests in any manner on issues and topics of interest to the jurists, members of legal profession, teachers of law, law students and the Bench and the public at large; To organize seminars, conferences, lectures and other events for the training of the jurists, members of legal profession, teachers of law, law students, the Bench and the public at large in matters relating to forensic science and allied areas and to work in co-ordination with government agencies and non-governmental organizations for the said purpose; To sponsor delegates and representatives from amongst members and nonmembers of the Council to visit different places and participate in national and international seminars, conferences, lectures and other events for carrying out the purposes of the Council; To publish newspapers, magazines, periodicals, publication of articles, treaties, books, reports and other literature, and also to publish THE JURIST; To organize campaigns for legal awareness and create a sense of self-confidence based upon legal knowledge of the people at large irrespective of caste, creed, religion and geographical boundaries; To establish and maintain a library or libraries; To launch and maintain a website as an interface between members of the public and the Council and between members of the Council inter se and also for continuing contact with other organizations in the world; Without prejudice to the generality of the above objects and for effectively carrying them out, the Council shall have the power to acquire, receive and hold property of any kind, including securities and negotiable instruments, to construct and maintain buildings, including the right to alter or improve them and to equip them suitably, to manage, to transfer, or otherwise dispose of the property of any kind belonging to the council; To enter into contracts for and in connection with any of the purposes of the Council, to raise monies and funds in such manner as may be deemed fit, for and on behalf of the Council;

To take measures, including funding and applying of funds for aid to deserving jurists, judges, advocates, teachers and students of law and members of the press; To take measures to provide for financial aid to jurists, judges, lawyers, teachers and students of law, members of the press in strained circumstances and to members of their families on their death or in any incapacity; To provide group insurance and other welfare schemes for Jurists, Judges, lawyers, teachers and students of law, members of the press; To constitute co-operative group housing society and societies or associations for Jurists, Judges, lawyers, teachers and students of law, members of the press; To honour eminent Jurists, Judges, lawyers, teachers and students of law, members of the press by conferring National Law Day Awards and other awards/prizes to them; To do all such things and to perform all such acts as may be necessary or proper for the achieving of any or all of the above objects;
