Regulatory requirements Maintenance strategies and MRO Excellence Purchase excellence and spare parts management - efficient sourcing strategies cost management - coordination with subcontractors
Dear Sirs,
Global competition in the MRO industry is increasing. The main challenges for businesses are to reduce costs, improve safety and increase the quality level. As trivial as this may sound, reality shows how difficult the application is. However, Aircraft maintenance comprises much potential for cost and performance improvement. The difficulty is to integrate the operations in the line of business and making efficient investments in MRO applications. Maintaining aircraft fleets requires not only new skills but also the application of the right strategy. Benefit from best practices and cutting-edge case studies on our international conference

MRO Contracting
Outsourcing of MRO work is no novelty, but became more and more popular in Europe in the 90ties. The US airlines are still lagging behind. Small and middle-sized airlines have reduced inhouse maintenance activities in order to control costs and low-cost carriers tend to outsource their MRO work completely. From Line Maintenance to Base Maintenance, from component and engine repair, modification and overhaul to engineering the maintenance activties outsourced are subject to the airline's business model, fleet size and composition and the overall long term economics. Hence the type of contracts with the maintenace service provider can be very different. Subject to the airlines profile (size, location, aircraft type, fleet size etc) and its mid to long term aspirations the best contract for the airlines particular needs has to be concluded. Material Management is becoming more and more a crucial cost driver. Latest trends in MRO contracting reflect the extension of the popular "Power by the Hour" for component maintenance, repair and overhaul to include the spares provisioning and supply as well. This transfer of primarily fixed costs into variable costs provides extra flexibility to the airlines. The Workshop will sketch out the various possibilities of designing a suitable contract tailored to your company and highlight recent trends in MRO contracting. Participants will gain insights in how to: I Design flexible contracts I Adjust contracts in order to minimise costs in material management
Workshop C 14:00-17:00

MRO IT Systems
On-time departures for airlines depend much on the maintenance reliability for fleets. Delivery of real-time service is the primary goal. For this, information of fleets and parts need to be passed on quickly and maintenance activities need to be properly documented. Aircraft maintenance systems are therefore indispensable. Maintenance procedures are standardised, accurate overview of all parts and assemblies and project job costs can be kept. Maintenance planning is possible because work orders are automated. Latest trends in using e-maintenance show that further benefits and ROI can be obtained. It helps to optimise the workflow, while assuring a high level of quality. The workshop gives a precise overview of the implementation process for a maintenance system, specifically e-maintenance. Participants of the workshop will learn to:
