Changes in the CFA Level I Curriculum from 2012 to 2013

For the year 2013, the CFA Program curriculum for CFA Level I has seen minimal changes from 2012. Ever since the CFA Program curriculum was launched, I dont think there has been a year during which the curriculum has retained as much of the previous years content as it has this year. Thats obviously great news for those of you who are retaking the exam in 2013 and for those who, for whatever reason, were unable to sit for the exam in 2012 and will be studying towards the 2013 test. Ethics, Quantitative Methods, Economics, Corporate Finance, Portfolio Management, Equity and Derivatives are pretty much exactly the same in 2013 as they were for 2012. Two FRA Readings (Non-Current Liabilities and FSA Applications) have seen minimal revisions, while one FRA Reading (Financial Statement Analysis) has been deleted. One new Reading (Fundamentals of Credit Analysis) has been added to the Fixed Income Section. One new Reading has replaced the old Reading on Alternative Investments.

While this is great news for those of you who studied some parts of the curriculum in 2012, we at lan Guides still have our work cut out for us. Aside from adding to our practice questions and improving all our products to ensure optimal curriculum coverage, we plan to redo a lot of our videos. As you may know by now, Peter Olinto, a true sage of the CFA Prep industry has joined us as joint lead CFA video instructor.
