need to include a bibliography regarding where you found the information.

You will need to include at least two sources of information, and remember that plagiarizing is not only immoral, but also illegal. Use your own words please.

Things to include in your project: The person (A) and W h y you think this occurs (B) A. Famous Women and Minorities in Science: You will need to search for information on a particular woman or minority member who has become l<xiown for their contribution to science. You may use the traditional encyclopedia, newspapers, magazines, and/or the Internet. When you search the Internet for this topic, I would recommend that you have your search engine look for "Minorities in Science". You should get several hits. Two that I found useful were the following: www.princeton.edu (you will have to type in what to search for) andwww.distinguishedwomen.com and you can probably find more than that. What I am looking for is the following information: name, nationahty, birth (and death) date, details about their lives and their struggle to be recognized, and what they are known for in the area of science. I would like you to summarize what you can find about this person, including the above information, into a one-page report. You do not have to get too technical about their science, but a summary wiU do just fine. You might Ust some of their publications, the university associations, etc...

B. Why Women and Minorities are Under-Represented in Science; You w i l l again need to search out information, only this time you w i l l research the question regarding the relatively low numbers of women and minorities involved professionally in science. You might include information about how interest among girls and minorities seems to wane during the Middle School Years. You might include information regarding prejudices against women and minorities in the science classrooms and/or among universities seeking qualified applicants. These are just some thoughts that I know about this topic. Please present your information in a few sHdes. Things to include: 1. your project has a beginning, middle, and end. 2. stays on the topic. 3. flows smoothly from one idea to another. 4. includes details and examples. 5. includes correct grammar/usage, punctuation, capitalization and spelling. 6. contains at least 7 slides that are interesting to look at, have appropriately sized font, and graphics that are relevant to your needs.
