A Study Of Recruitment Agencies With Special References To Process And Sources

Abstract Recruitment industry is playing a very crucial role in service sector. It is growing immeasurably with the increase in the demand as well as accessibility of professional and capable manpower. Moreover number of jobs, aspirants and corporation has become so huge that require the recruitment agencies, who execute as an arbitrator connecting applicants & employers. Thus today the number of recruitment agencies in Pune & PCMC has increased. Recruitment agencies works as a human resource or a firm, which does the employee hunting for their clients. Now a day's many large or little companies are doing human resources outsourcing for recruiting the candidates. These recruitment agencies assist to uncover the qualified employee as per their client's requirements. The main objective is to identify the recruitment process and sources adopted by the recruitment agencies for recruitment in PCMC & Pune region. The data was collected through questionnaires. The source of data was both primary and secondary. Sample size was 10. Data analysis has been done. It has been noticed that most of the employment agencies using job portals as the most important medium. Theory Background:According to Edwin B Flippo Recruitment is nothing but the process of searching the candidates for employment and then stimulating them for jobs in the organization. It is the activity that links the employees and the job seekers. It is also defined as the process of finding and attracting capable applicants for employment. It is the pool of applicants from which the new employees are selected. It can also be defined as a process to discover sources of manpower to meet the requirement of the staffing schedule and to employ effective measures for attracting the manpower in adequate numbers in order to facilitate the effective selection of an efficient working force. According to David A De Cenzo The recruitment needs are of three types which are as follow: (a) First one is Planned Needs: These are the needs that arise from the changes in the organization and retirement policy creating vacancy for new jobs. (b).Second one is Anticipated Needs: These are those movements in personal which an organization can predict by studying trends both in external as well as internal environment. (c) Last one is Unexpected Needs: These needs arise due to various reasons like deaths, resignations, accidents, illness, relocation etc. Recruitment Agencies:Web definitions (Recruitment Agency) A recruiter is someone engaging in recruitment, or the solicitation of individuals to fill jobs or positions within a corporation, non-for-profit organization, sports team, etc. ... (Recruitment agency) An employment agency is an organization which matches employers to employees. In all developed countries there is a publicly funded employment agency and multiple private businesses which also act as employment agencies. (Recruitment agency) A third party organization engaged by an employer or job seeker to facilitate a successful match. The agency may handle any or all of the recruitment process, such as advertising, application screening or interviews. a business that finds suitable people to work for other businesses Companies which attempt to match the employment needs of an employer with a worker having the required skill set and interests. Some agencies are privately owned while others are sponsored by government.

Research methodology The purpose of this section is to describe the methodology carried out to complete the work. The methodology plays a dominant role in any research work. The effectiveness of any research work depends upon the correctness and effectiveness of the research methodology. Research design:Sampling technique:-Judgmental Sampling Judgmental sampling is a form of convenience sampling in which the population elements are selected based on the judgment of the researcher. Target population and Sample size The target population was the Recruitment Head of Recruitment Agencies. A sample size of10 Recruitment agencies, 5 from PCMC & 5 from Pune. Data Analysis Data analysis is very important aspect of project, as it basically involves the analysis of all the information that we collected. The information collected needs to be analyzed so that we can interpret the information and provides the justification for the work we have done during our research. Data analysis is a body of methods that help to describe facts, detect patterns, develop explanations and test hypothesis. Data analysis has been done with the help of MS Excel. After the respondents had filled in the questionnaires, the data was analysed manually as well as with the help of MS Excel. The data has been presented in the form of graphs, bar charts, pie charts etc. After analysis of each of the question in a questionnaire the interpretation of the same is also being provided which includes the reason about the particular aspect of the organization and we can also judge the frequency and application of the same in a particular context so that we are able to find out the exact fact behind the particular aspect of an organization on which are whole project report is based.

Findings The findings from the analysis including charts, bars, and graphs are listed as follows:Recruitment agencies process starts on receiving manpower requirement from client and ends on selection of the candidates. Candidate and client follow up on continuous basis are prerequisite of this process. The recruitment agencies considered portals as the most important medium, followed by Database and followed by references. Naukri is sharing as the most used job portal followed by times and followed by monster Conclusions: Continuous follow up with client and candidate is the prerequisite of any recruitment process followed by the agency. Job portal is the most effective source of recruitment and Naukri is the most commonly used job portal by the agencies.
