transporte e da logstica mais ampla do que um simples apanhado terminolgico. Trata-se de uma lngua ativa, ancorada num ingls mais geral,
do qual o usurio deve conhecer os grandes princpios; uma lngua cuja
prtica corresponde a um saber que podemos reagrupar sob a etiqueta
transferncia de informao.
A ttulo de exemplo, o profissional dever saber extrair de um
documento escrito (fax, telex, dossi, ...) certas informaes especficas
que lhe sero necessrias para preencher formulrios e solicitaes de
informaes em lnguas s vezes diferentes (ingls/francs...). Conforme
as circunstncias, esta situao pode se apresentar de diferentes maneiras.
Para ser eficaz, o profissional dever dispor de certa competncia
lingstica desenvolvida conforme estas grandes linhas mestras:

or petroleum products (mainly crude oil although refined oil
represents a significant part of the traffic), and perishable goods such
as bananas and tropical fruits.
Developed countries more readily export the output of their industries
and agricultures: grain and in a more general way foodstuff possibly
processed , chemicals (including NDCs Non Dangerous Chemicals),
valuables of all sorts
These goods are often classified in the shipping trade as general
cargo - or mixed cargo, break bulk cargo.
A large part is even carried as dry cargo or bulk cargo (not to
be mistaken with bulky or cumbersome cargo) when not packaged
into units.

loads, i.e. standardized parcels. Hence, the evolution has been towards
the packaging of smaller parcels into pallets and crates, of liquid
cargoes into drums, of such goods as cotton or flour into bales or
bags, which are all much more convenient to handle and stow in the
ships hold.
Some parcels must bear special signs indicating their contents or
warning stevedores against rough handling. These signs may be stencilled
directly on the parcel or displayed on a label. For example, D.G. Labels
(Dangerous Goods labels), to be kept dry, keep in cool place,
indicate these parcels should be placed in specific places aboard the ship.
Other labels are indications to handling operators: this side up/down,
handle with care, no hooks, etc
