Deferred Action:
What is it? Where can I learn how to apply? On June 15, 2010, President Obama wrote an executive memo that offered undocumented children, who fit certain criteria, a chance to apply for the opportunity to receive a two year work permit and two years of protection from deportation proceedings. The current order leaves open the opportunity to renew this status every two years. It does not, however, provide a social security number or lawful status.
