DARFLARE - CHEVRON SYSTEM

Designed for higher heat flux levels - generally used as a horizontal heat shield located directly below the flare tip.

Ensures that the underlying structural steelwork remains under 100oC during flaring temperatures of +700C at the hot face
Allows the shield to expand and contract during thermal cycling installed with sufficient gaps to prevent internal panel stressing or buckling Will withstand harsh offshore conditions with installations lasting 20+ years (i.e. BP Magnus & Bruce) Choice of Alloy 625 and Alloy 800 for the more onerous conditions and Stainless Steel grade 316 for the less onerous conditions Approximate weight based on standard design 50Kg/m2

DARFLARE CHEVRON THERMAL PERFORMANCE

The unique all metallic system utilises the effect of air flow to cool the shield. The system ensures that heat is reflected while cooler air is drawn from the underside of the shield. Creates a steady state situation under the shield, generally less than 100oC

Heat flow mechanism shows how heat is reflected while cooler air is drawn from underneath the shield.
