Rainfall - Heaviest rainfall I-95 and East, except SE VA and western Tidewater, where heaviest rain has ended. Snowfall - Snow heavy at times west and north of Richmond through midday. Snowfall rates tapering off this afternoon. Off and on snow through day southern Piedmont into southside VA as far east as Emporia. Temps - Falling to low to mid 30s, except west of I95, where temperatures will hold steady in the lo-mid 30s. Temps around 30 N/W of Richmond metro. Winds - Gusty winds of 30 to 35 mph could cause falling trees and power outages due to the heavy wet nature of the snow across the western piedmont. Gusts to 40 - 50 mph possible near the Bay/Coast. Storm Surge - 1 to 2 feet above normal. Minor flooding is currently anticipated, especially southern Bay/Hampton Roads. Water levels on the Potomac will subside later today. Potential for moderate flooding around Chincoteague. Beach erosion also likely. Coastal flood threat extends through Friday .

Coastal tides could be 2 feet above normal Thursday into Friday, with minor flooding possible. Beach erosion likely. Coastal flood threat extends into Friday.

General Impacts: Event Timing - Wednesday through early morning Thursday.


Rainfall - Generally around an inch before precip changes to snow late this afternoon or evening. Snowfall - 1 to 3 inches anticipated at this time with up to 4 inches around Cambridge and western portions of Wicomico/Somerset counties, mainly from "wrap around" behind storm. Temps - Temps falling into the low/mid 30s this afternoon/evening. Winds - Some gusts 50+ mph possible near the coast; 30-45 mph gusts elsewhere. Storm Surge - 1 to 2 feet on the Bay. Minor flooding possible. 3-4 foot departures along the coast. Moderate to possibly severe flooding and beach erosion anticipated. Coastal flood threat extends into Friday.
