The review of the literature for this study focuses on procedures and development of the system to identify method that is more effective for payment system. The review also focuses on the tools going to use to make a system that is user-friendly and secure. This chapter, the related literature conducted through different research shall be presented to broaden the proponents knowledge and to build a firm basis and credibility about the study.
Enrolment System
According to Hayes (2010), Enrolment System is the keeper of records pertaining to course offerings, scheduling, registering, grading and graduation. Hayes Further stated that the function of enrolment system include; maintaining and monitoring the academic of every students; arranging class schedules and making room assignments; establishing procedures; registration of students and collection of payment. Arjay Tejano (2011) stated that in order for the school to be successful there must be commitment in developing, implementing and evaluating the enrolment system. Therefore to achieve Arjay Tejano study, the research must give attention to Hayes study the enrolment system is the one who is responsible for collection of payment, we all know that schools is collecting payments in order to implement; monitor, maintain and develop the school. Thus the Payment System served as the blood of every school, institutes and colleges.
XAMPP Server
XAMPP is a free and open source cross-platform web server solution stack package, consisting mainly of the Apache HTTP Server, MySQL database, and interpreters for scripts written in the PHP and Perl programming languages, according to Howard (2004). Officially, XAMPP's designers intended it for use only as a development tool, to allow website designers and programmers to test their work on their own computers without any access to the Internet. To make this as easy as possible, many important security features are disabled by default. In practice, however, XAMPP is sometimes used to actually serve web pages on the World Wide Web. A special tool is provided to password-protect the most important parts of the package. XAMPP also provides support for creating and manipulating databases in MySQL and SQLite among others.
PHP
PHP was originally created by Rasmus Lerdorf in 1995, it is an open-source server side scripting language designed for Web development to produce dynamic Web pages. PHP can be deployed on most Web servers, many operating systems and platforms, and can be used with many relational database management systems (RDBMS). Most web hosting providers support PHP for use by their clients. The main implementation of PHP is now produced by The PHP Group and serves as the formal reference to the PHP language. Arjay Tejano (2011) stated that it can primarily act as a filter, taking input from a files or stream containing text and/or PHP instructions and outputs another stream of data; most commonly the output will be in HTML form. In view the PHP is easy to use and more appropriate to use to make a web-based system.
MYSQL
One of the most used relational database management system (RDBMS) stated by Ullman (2006). Information in a MySQL database is stored in the form of related tables. MySQL databases are typically used for web application development. The study was supported by Hiliyer (2005) in his statement that MySQL is the most popular RDBMS; it is always used with PHP which will show best result. It is also easy to use and feature-rich that shows speed, scalability, stability and ease of use, MySQL has become the best choice for database powered applications. Arjay Tejano(2011) concluded that PHP and MySQL when combines together can present a lot of advantages in developing a software or system. Therefore it is more appropriate for the researchers of the study to use MySQL and PHP to obtain a user-friendly and more secure system
