Monday, March 4, 2013 at 10 a.m. (Room 123): PR 20-52, the "Commission on Re-Entry and Returning Citizen Affairs Courtney A. Stewart Confirmation Resolution of 2013; PR20-53, the "Commission on Re-Entry and Returning Citizen Affairs Marco E. Price-Bey Confirmation Resolution of 2013; and PR 20-54, the "Commission on Re-Entry and Returning Citizen Affairs Debra G. Rowe Confirmation Resolution of 2013. These resolutions would approve the Mayors nominees to the Commission on Re-Entry and Returning Citizens Affairs. Monday, March 4, 2013 at 2 p.m. (Room 123): Reconvened Performance Oversight Hearing on the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 10 a.m. (Room 120): Bill 20-118, the Marriage Officiant Amendment Act of 2013. This legislation would establish the authority of a temporary marriage officiant to perform a marriage ceremony. Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 10 a.m. (Room 500): Bill 20-60, the Eyewitness Identification Procedures Act of 2013 and Bill 20-73, the Mug Shot Access Act of 2013. Bill 20-60 would create and mandate an eyewitness identification (ID) process; and includes several procedures and requirements regarding this process, including remedies for when a procedure is not in accordance with this law. Bill 20-73 would require the Metropolitan Police Department to release photographs of arrested individuals to the public. Monday, March 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. (Room 123): Bill 20-35, the Domestic Violence Hotline Establishment Act of 2013. This legislation would require the Office of Victim Services to establish and provide a 24-hour, live-assistance, direct toll-free hotline to services for victims and potential victims of domestic violence. Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. (Room 123): Bill 20-13, the Attorney General Subpoena Authority Authorization Amendment Act of 2013 and Bill 20-134, the Elected Attorney General Implementation and Legal Service Establishment Amendment Act of 2013. The stated purpose of Bill 20-13 is to clarify and broaden the meaning of municipal matter and authorize the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) to issue subpoenas for any matter being investigated. Bill 20-134, as introduced by the Mayor, reflects the executives determination of legal changes necessary to effectively implement the Districts transition to an elected Attorney General, including the reorganization of attorneys in that office; training and performance standards; the transfer of the Child Support Services Division to the Department of Human Services; and much more.
