STUDENT TEACHING REFLECTION

When I first thought of practice teaching, I went through many emotions. It started with excitement because that meant I was closer to graduation. I had so many questions running through my mind. What will my teacher be like? Will the faculty will supportive? With all these questions I started to feel intimidated by what was soon to come? I was worried that my cooperating teacher and I would not get along. I was terrified that my students would not understand me. What should I do if I was not being able to be the kind of teacher I had hoped I would be? When the time came for me to begin my practice teaching, all I could do was hope and pray that things went smoothly. Soon I found out that any worries I had were no longer an issue. I was placed at the school that was filled with caring and supportive people. I was expecting to get along with my cooperating teacher and my pupils, but my experience went above and beyond my expectations I had in the beginning. I Learned more imagined I would! I have to come to realize I could not have had a better Practice teaching experience than the one I had in Daraga North Central School. My first placement was in grade six, where I met my cooperating teacher Miss Josephine Jacob, she is very kind but strict. She was handling 3 sections where I was going to handle too. The three sections are the Catleya, Magnolia and Daisy. These three sections has different attitude. The Catleya pupils are little bit noisy but sweet, Magnolia are noisy but kind easy to make them quite and the Daisy were the most disciplined pupils among the three because they are first section. I really enjoy teaching n grade VI, thats why I felt worried and sad when the principal of the school announced that we should experience both the primary and intermediate level. Honestly I dont like the shifting to happen, because I was happy in teaching the grade six pupils and we had a good harmony of my cooperating teacher. But I have no choice I need to follow. All i can do was to pray that everything went good as the same in the first shifted. The time came when we finally shifted. I was assigned in grade IV where I met my second cooperating teacher, Mrs. Maria Carmela A. Zamora. She was silent type and very simple. I thought I would found difficulties to a good rapport to her. Yes, she is silent but you just need to approach her first. Thats what I did, I ask her some question for us to have a little conversation as well as a good harmony of relationship.
