Post Title: Reporting Associate (National) Duration: 1 March 2013 to 31 December 2013 Duty Station: Abidjan Ivory Coast Level: N/A Contract Type: UNOPS service contract Supervisor: Chief Programme Deadline of application: 28 fvrier 2013 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Systematically screens and cross-checks internal and external reports, situational reports, information and communication material for accuracy and consistency. Drafts regular and emergency reports in consultation with the programme coordinator. Edits reports before submitting them to UNHCR HQ or regional office; Assists the programme section in the production of periodic reports, donor appeals and different information material related to the humanitarian assistance in the country following the standard reporting format/scheme; Prepares and systematically updates information material (Fact Sheets, FAQs, backgrounders, data tables), briefings, and presentations on the situation in coordination with the programme team. Collect and systematize information on progress of UNHCR program and provide technical assistance and support on data collection, data delivery, etc.; Compile progress reports and other reports on the project as per project requirements;

Assist in analyzing and compiling gathered data/indicators to measure progress and impact of project activities; Provide full feedback to the field on progress monitoring and reporting problems and solutions in as much details as possible; Facilitate various presentations on periodic bases to donors, UN Agencies and other stakeholders about the achievement of program objectives; Undertake field visits to assist the preparation reports, work plans and specific projects; Provide support to the programme team working on specific projects including financial and administrative tasks related to activities; Ensure regular and timely reporting from partners by monitoring and following up with the Field Offices and partners. Undertake any other relevant tasks assigned by the Chief of Programme falling in incumbents area of expertise;

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Advanced university degree in Journalism, Communications, Political/Social Sciences or International Relations or related technical field is required; High-level interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written); Excellent writing skills in English and French; Proven ability to conceptualize, plan and execute ideas, as well as impart knowledge and teach skills; Ability to perform under general direction, self-motivated, and organized; Sound people and project management skills; Strong attention to details; Significant understanding of working in a cross-cultural environment; A high level of proficiency in using standard computer applications (email, Word, Excel, Power Point) and specific computer applications; Ability to work under pressure and beyond business hours on occasion if necessary Female candidates are encouraged to apply; Professional experience in Public/External Relations or Media, with exposure to the international environment would be an asset.

DUTY STATION AND TRAVEL The post is Office-based in Abidjan with travel within the country for reporting tasks on programme related activities. The report specialist will report to the senior programme officer and will work in close collaboration with whole programme team, field offices and different sections. INDEPENDENCE S/he is supposed to work independently, with minimal supervision and provide regular feedback to supervisor. Necessary guidance will be provided on the processes and procedures applicable to reporting and communication management in Ivory Coast country office. OTHER SKILLS NEEDED Flexibility, judgment, maturity, and ability to work with a team. Ability to cope with stressful and difficult conditions, and political/cultural sensitivity.
