A. General Information Project Title: Health is Wealth Project Target Community/Beneficiaries: Bagong Silangan, QC residents Community Background:

The town, being situated in a low land area, is prone to floods which are concurrent in times of heavy rain in the neighborhood of Bagong Silangan. Most of the residents are financially incapable and live in decrepit houses. The residents lack proper nutrition and sanitation. Especially in times of floods, they are not able to find adequate shelter and are more exposed to disease-causing agents. Other programs that should also be implemented are: a) cleaning programs which would significantly decrease the likelihood of disease, b) construction programs which would elevate the land area and make the area less susceptible to floods, c) programs that would establish new sewage systems, etc. All of these, in line with the Health is Wealth project should all be implemented to ensure the health and safety of the residents.

B. Objectives: General Objective: Increase the overall nutritional status of the residents Specific Objective:

Within 5 years, the incidence rate of contracting diseases associated with poor sanitation should be reduced by 50% or more. Improve the physical and mental wellbeing of each individual.

C. The Community Development Plan Matrix Activities Preparation: With the consultation of health experts and extensive research, the project was conceptualized and action plans were constructed. Funds for the project were obtained either from the government or donations of private organizations. A medical mission was conducted first to assess the health status and treat the sick.
