TEE TIME! Francis Sanchez models Guaranteed T-shirt, marking the last talk of the series, Significance. More on Page 2.

I KNOW a lot of people who tell God their problems. When you do that, you release your stress and thats a great thing. But thats not enough. It shouldnt end there. If you end there, you may feel comforted but not commissioned. How do you do that? When you pray, dont just tell God your problems but tell Him of His promises as well. When you do that, youre lifting your mind from present reality to future reality. Like David, youre encouraging yourself in the Lord. Today, as we end our phenomenal series, Guaranteed, I pray you receive a new

paradigm on how to live life. Youll no longer see your daily life from the perspective of your problems but from the position of His promises. And thats a great shift that will impact you forever. Be very encouraged by God at our Feast today. May your dreams come true,

BO SANCHEZ PS. Next week, youll learn how to receive holy, healthy, and happy wealth! Watch for it.

LAST WEEK

Significance

LAST Sundays Gospel taken from Luke 2:41-52 talks about Jesus who, as a young boy, went with his parents to Jerusalem to attend the Feast of the Passover. Jesus is left behind in the temple. His parents look for Him to no avail, so they decide to return to Jerusalem. After three days, they find Him preaching among the elders at the temple. Fr. Titus Mananzan, SVD, began his homily by telling the story of a young boy who loves his pet dog very much. While playing in the forest, the boy sees a fairy who, impressed by the boys affection for his dog, tells the boy to make a wish and shell grant it. The boy wishes that hed also be a dog. Fr. Titus said just as the boy wanted to become the creature he loved, God also willed to become man because He wanted to become one with us. As man, Jesus always remained obedient to God and his parents. Though He had many struggles and temptations, He followed the will of the Father: that He dies on the Cross. God always wills the best for us, and our obedience is a sign of love for Him. As we celebrate the Feast of the Santo Nino, Fr. Titus said that we need to remember the qualities of a child. Matthew 18:3 says Unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of God. Fr. Titus said let us emulate the childs sense of wonder, forgiveness, trust, dependence, and humility. -- Anna Modesto

Be Like a Child

BRO. BO SANCHEZ started Talk#3: Significance with a verse from Mark 8:36 that says, What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul? He said that we need to pursue success but we cannot stop at merely becoming successful. We must aim for significance which is the highest form of success. To be significant is to be able to influence or impact others life, and ask nothing in return. Sharing a personal experience, Bro. Bo recalled a time when he hiked for four hours without bringing water with him to quench his thirst. He only had a candy in his pocket which he opted to take, thinking that it would make

him feel better. It did but only for two minutes. He felt worse afterwards, realizing the bad effect of sugar on thirst. Similarly, success is beautiful and wonderful. You can have all the power and pleasure in the world but they will never satisfy unless, you give yourself to others. Bro. Bo also told the story of a wealthy man who calls up his friend and tells him that he is feeling awful that day. The man buys a new luxury car worth P9 million, in addition to a number of other luxury cars that he already owns. At the end of the day, he calls the same friend to tell him that he still feels sad and awful.

The story tells us that no matter how much success and wealth we may have in life, we will not be happy unless we share our success with others. We should ask God to show us the path to higher success which is significance. Success versus Significance Bro. Bo pointed out that success is achieving ones dreams, while significance is helping others achieve their dreams. The reason we need to achieve success is to help others achieve success. We do not need to be completely successful. We can help other people achieve their dreams one step at a time. Even if we

are still on step number one, we can help those in step zero. We can teach others what we already learned which others still have not. Bro. Bo said significance is not saying go there but come here. We cannot help others with something we have not yet achieved. We can turn around and help others with whatever we already have. Luke 12:16-21 talks about the parable of the rich fool who produces plentiful crops but does not have enough storage. He decides to tear down his barns to build a larger one where he can store all his grains and goods that will last for many years so he can just relax, eat, drink, and be merry. But God tells him that his life will be taken from him that very night. Who then will benefit from the riches he means to store for himself? Bro. Bo said there are three ways to live life on planet Earth: 1. A life of success is filling your barn so that you can turn around, train, and help other people. 2. A life of selfishness is filling your barn and nothing more. This will lead to utter misery. 3. A life of significance is helping others fill their barns. It does not have to be in a grand manner, but even in simple acts that can impact others life. Bro. Bo said let us ask God to help us bless the world, edify, and equip another human being. Then, we will achieve not only success but significance for ourself and for others. -- Regiele Anne Cruz -- Photos by ELS

AT FEAST PICC, from left: Remy, Anna Melissa, and Athira

By AThIRA ShYNNE NANDA KumAR I FIRST attended the Feast with my classmates Remy Lingon and Anna Melissa Flores on January 20, 2013. I heard about the Feast from one of my professors who often talked about the prayer gathering in class telling us stories and enlightening us about the talks and their significance in her life, and advising us to apply them to our own. She encouraged us to attend the Feast, so we eventually did. Weve always heard of the saying, All the wealth can make you a lonely person. I never imagined the saying to be true. I mean I always thought that if youre a wealthy person, everybody around you would want to know you or be your friend. But I was wrong. Once, I dreamt of having a lucrative job. I dreamt of owning a house and lot, fancy car, high tech gadgets, the works. Then I heard the talk of Bro. Bo on Significance, the last of the series on Guaranteed. As I listened to Bro. Bo, I realized I was heading toward a life without significance, a life of selfishness. I also imagined the successful ME and yet I let everyone out of it. Bro. Bo asked who wanted to live a life of success with significance. This did not ring a bell for me. I was confused since I never heard that before and as he explained, I got a clearer picture: its about aiming for a success so that you can help others be a success too. I then pondered on my relationship with my loved ones-- my dad, mom, and most especially my younger brother. Way back when we were younger, we regularly fought about just everything, ridiculed each other even in front of other people. We went to the same school but when we saw each other in the hallway, its as if we were strangers. I didnt bother to greet him. There was even a time when people didnt know I had a brother since I didnt talk much about him. Now, I am 20 years old, and my brother is 16. I am now old enough to realize my mistakes. I did not give any significance to the word ate to him and to this day it makes me teary to realize the time I have wasted. After I heard Bro. Bos talk, Ive resolved to include my brother in my success. All I dream of now, after hearing the talk, is how I can help my brother fulfill his dreams. Like he wishes to go to college in the Philippines I will do all I can to support him-- even if it means working my head off for his future. Editors Note: Have you reflections on the Feast talks? A Promise

mINISTRIES

ATTENTION, Feast attendees! Here are your leaders, Armed and Dangerous! Bro. Bo Sanchez, our Lieutenant General, is in full combat gear, your elders are in battle fatigue, and the rest of your leaders are in cadet uniform. Wait, before you take cover, what just recently happened was Leaders Assembly of the Light of Jesus Family at the Villamor Air Force Gym last January 19. The meeting prepared our 1,700 leaders for their big tasks in 2013 to tend the unchurched, the poor, and the downtrodden. And to meet their goal, our leaders are armed-- with unconditional love, like Gods love-- which makes them really dangerous to anyone and any other obstacle to their mission. For Gods love conquers all. Thats how Bro. Bo explained the theme of the assembly: Armed and Dangerous! The assemblys special guest, retired Lt. General Oscar H. Rabena, the 31st Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force, who is a regular Feast attendee, discussed the best weapons for leaders in an interview with Bro. Randy Borromeo. The best weapons, Lt. Gen. Rabena said, are three: faith, values, and relationship. He also shared the core values of the Air Force which Feast leaders may well adopt: INSTEP-- Integrity, Service, Teamwork, Excellence, and Professionalism. With such values, our leaders are indeed ARMED and DANGEROUS!
IN GODS ARMY, from top: Lt. General Oscar Rabena with Randy Borromeo; the Feast Builders; Bro. Obet Cabrillas, drill sergeant, presenting the Combat Manual, The Holy Bible and the leaders vowing to live by Gods Word. They also received Companion, a daily Mass guide designed by Bro. Bo.

Jill Ramiscal, themselves Abraham awardees. At right, Bonifacio Global City Builder George Gabriel leads the worship.

CARING GROUPS

Power Couples
HE will fix your schedule, Dennis assured his wife Lyndsey. Dennis Antonio is attending the Feast regularly. When Bro. Bo Sanchez encouraged attendees to join a caring group, Dennis decided to join one. Lyndsey, on the other hand, hesitated to join him. Her work schedule changed frequently so she might not be able to attend the CG meetings regularly. But Dennis assured her, God will find a way for us to attend the CG. Earlier, the couple prayed for an opportunity to serve God. So Lyndsey agreed to join a CG and they chose the general category under Aris and Che Guatato. Three months after, Dennis and Lyndsey were invited to serve as CG heads-- the opportunity they prayed for. So the couple promptly said Yes! Today, Dennis and Lindsey lead Power Couples, a Caring Group composed of couples in various stages of their relationships from newlyweds to those in their 38th year of marriage. Also, in this group, there are doctors, lawyers, businessmen, bankers, educators, chefs, retirees, accountants, and engineers. Majority of the couples have been members of the CG for two years now.

Dennis and Lyndsey, together with the other couples in the CG Power Couples, enjoy each others company while learning from each couples experiences. They learn from each others mistakes. They support a member undergoing trials. They listen to his pain, share with him a similar experience, and give him sound advice. The couples keep in touch by sending one another inspirational messages and checking on them through their Facebook group. They often hang out, chatting and eating, celebrating birthdays, wedding anniversaries, even town fiestas. They hold CG Mini-lympics.

The CG once went on an outreach mission to Tahanan ng Pagmamahal, the Feast partner beneficiary taking care of orphans, and Grace To Be Born, the Feast partner beneficiary that gives shelter to unwed pregnant women. The CG members brought toys and gifts for the kids at Tahanan. During their outreach at Grace To Be Born, a CG member who is an Ob-gyne, gave the mothers free medical checkup. Also, the couples went to Camarilla Elementary School in Quezon City to hold a Christmas party for less fortunate kids. They served food and entertained the kids with games and clowns, and gave the

I GRABBED the last few gifts I needed and lined up at the nearest counter. I opened my wallet to check how much cash I had. Ooops...the only bill I saw was the one I allocated for my tithe. Christmas was just around the corner. The mall was bursting at its seams with last-minute shoppers. I just had to buy those gifts. I didnt have a credit card. I must go to the nearest ATM machine to withdraw money. But I was just half a foot away from the cashier. I couldnt dare leave the line which was already snaking way beyond the barriers. So I whispered to God, Lord, Ill borrow the tithe, ha? Ill give it back later when I withdraw cash from the ATM. I kind of felt guilty borrowing from God. But it was already my turn to pay, and the cashier was already like, Maam, do you have Advantage card, po? I did have the Advantage card-- you know, those cards given to loyal customers which earn points that are as good as cash.

Promptly, I fished out my Advantage card from my wallet and handed it to the cashier. She swiped the card and said, Maam, you have enough number of points to purchase your items. Would you want to use them now? Whoa? The cashier politely repeated what she said. Yup, okay. Use my points! I wanted to laugh as I stepped out of the department store. What was I thinking? Of course, God didnt want me to use His money elsewhere. God gave me points as His reward for me since He knew I was committed in my tithing, and far away ATMs cannot disrupt that. I didnt even have to use my own cash. Now I know God makes us earn points with Him, too!
