In recent months, a new consensus has emerged: For the first time in millennia, Judaism has lost its title as the worlds most persecuted religion; today, that dubious honor goes to Christianity. Christians are targeted more than any other body of believers, wrote Rupert Shortt in a 54-page report for the Londonbased Civitas institute in December, which meticulously documented their persecution on a country-bycountry basis. Even politicians have begun grasping this fact: German Chancellor Angela Merkel publicly deemed Christianity the most persecuted religion in the world in November. In short, as one commentator put it last week, Christians have become the new Jews. There are two reasons why Christianity has displaced Judaism as the worlds most persecuted religion. One, obviously, is increased persecution of Christians, which stems largely from the rise of radical Islam: Though non-Islamic countries like China also repress Christians, only radical Islamists kill them wholesale. The other is that today, Jews face less persecution than ever before in history. And that is entirely due to the existence of the State of Israel.

Were hundreds of thousands of Jews still scattered throughout the Islamic world, as was true a century ago, they would assuredly face persecution no less severe than Christians do. But they arent, because most have relocated to Israel.
As Jeff Jones said, "Having to fill out a form IS registering. The purpose of this bill is to reduce citizens' involvement on issues with their representatives and get those citizens out of the way of the paid lobbyists. This is a Rockefeller Republican't bill. Just let it die." Buzz Brockway, state representative from Lawrenceville, tried to explain and justify the measure. Unfortunately there is a lot of inaccurate information going around about the lobbyist registration provision of HB142, the ethics reform bill the House passed yesterday. I explained it in my post on post on Peach Pundit this morning but here is another succinct explanation from my friend B.j. Pak: "First, neither you, nor Debbie Whelchel (or anyone for that matter) will need to register as a lobbyist if you are just there at the capitol, no matter how many days. Lobbying means advocating for, or against, a proposition. However, if you are merely expressing your own opinion to any person--e.g. 'Rep. Pak, as a citizen, I ask you to please vote against HB 142" -- you are exempted from lobbyist registration. See Lines 305-309. IF you are representing an interest of another or a group (unpaid/volunteer) the 5 day limitation applies in order for you to be exempt from registration. So for example, if a church member, representing the CATHOLIC CHURCH (not his or her own personal view) came to advocate (lobby) for a pro-life bill on Catholic day, that person is exempt. But if he or she is there for more than 5 days in a calendar year representing anyone other than him/herself, they will need to get a badge. AND, if that person doesn't make any "lobbying expenditures," he or she is also exempt from paying registration fees if they sign a statement saying, "I am a volunteer, I received no compensation, and I do not plan on making lobbying expenditures" see Lines 275-290, AND need not file any reports! see Lines 473-476." I'd urge everyone to please read the bill (linked below) and not listen to rumors spread around the Capitol or the internet.
In fact, no elected official who bends to the pressures of the Speaker in passage of a law restricting or infringing on the right of Citizens to petition or otherwise participate in the legislative process is worthy of the office they hold..
Ronnie Reagan said, "When you can't make them see the light, make them feel the heat." It is not acceptable for legislators to build a legal structure to protect themselves from citizens.

Soviet KGB defector Yuri Bezmenov's shockingly prophetic warning from 29 years ago, describing what's happening in America today almost to the letter (A REAL EYE-OPENER): HTTP://WWW.YOUTU.BE/R3NXVSCRAZG If you're finding yourself dismissing this as just a "conspiracy theory" without actually being able to refute any of the arguments and evidence presented, it is far more likely that your fragile psyche is simply incapable of coming to terms with reality. US national debt has soared under Obama by a whopping $5 Trillion after just 1 term (that's more than Bush's deficits over 8 years), and with no slowdown in sight... no one is THAT incompetent unless they're seeking to intentionally derail the US economy! Lt. General William Boykin (retired) told TruNews Radio Tuesday that the U.S. economy of the United States is just about the break and collapse. And when the dam gives way, severe food shortages and pervasive violence throughout America will warrant, in his opinion, an executive declaration of martial law. Ill be very honest with you; the situation in America could be such that martial law is actually warranted, and that situation in my view could occur if we had an economic collapse, said Boykin, a former CIA Deputy Director of Special Activities. The dam is just about to break on our economy, and I think when it does, theres going to be a major disruption of the distribution of food, he added. And I think what youll see particularly in the inner cities is you will see riots, civil unrest that ultimately might justify martial law. - See more at: HTTP://GOVTSLAVES.INFO/RETIRED-CIA-ARMY-GENERAL-WARNS-OF-MARTIAL-LAWFOOD-SHORTAGES-ANDVIOLENCE/#STHASH.IR9OBDIN.DPUF

The commissioners actually voted to create a bureaucratic maze with huge costs. A
summary of what the amendment really means: "The "Hen Proposal" is only a small wisp of mist in the wind. Commissioner Cupid, to my delight, is on the right course. I understand Commissioner Ott has to negotiate choppy waters thus his long pre-apology before proceeding with presenting his amendments. Under this amendment, unless I am incorrect, I will need to begin the process at a cost of around $1750 including the application fee of $150, the sign deposit of $100, the drawings of my proposed hen coop $300 and a lot survey $1200. EVEN THEN, evidently, anyone "in my area" (not limited to my adjacent neighbors - who know and trust me) may be able to come forward to object to my application and I would be out the above costs. To put some perspective on this I can go today and purchase a male and female of any breed dog and start churning out puppies - no further permission or announcement required. By the way - once my application is approved I'll still have the approximately $1500 cost of building the type of hen coop I want to have and the cost of the hens my wife has already picked out and the daily upkeep. A total investment of around $3250 to own 4 hens. Oh, and in 2 years, I need to renew my variance meaning any Mary or Joe in my vicinity who doesn't like the fact I'm a Braves fan or drive a red car can protest my hens ... At this rate if I put a value on any eggs I may end up with after the first year it would be somewhere around $2.50 each." Note the text of the ordinance at HTTP://WWW.BACKYARDCHIX.ORG/COBB-COUNTY/ to see that the commissioners simply kicked the can back to an unpredictable departmental decision.

Get the picture? A backyard chicken coop is enclosed. The birds do not fly around the neighborhood!

I have discussed this matter with three commissioners and the chairman and the response has been positive. Since the verbiage of ordinances already in use around the state is readily available we do not expect a great investment of time or resources by county staff. In fact we are happy to draft the changes and submit them for review. Please attend the Board of Commissioners meeting on March 19th at 6:30pm. June and I will address the board and ask them to direct staff to review and update the ULDC. In a previous mailing we provided ordinance citations from across the state listing specific requirements and qualifications for raising chickens, which we hope to see expanded to other egg producing fowl. Again we want to state that no commercial use or endeavor is sought. The sole purpose is to allow people to raise and produce their own food. We propose the county code changes to specifically protect the right to grow food crops and raise small animals on private property so long as such crops and animals are used for human consumption by the occupants, gardeners, or raisers and their households and not for commercial purposes. We are seeking the ability to raise fowl (specifically chickens) in our residential backyard. Please contact your district commissioner. Tell him that you support this update to Henry Countys Unified Land Development Code (ULDC) and want him to vote in favor.
