You will need...
- an old t shirt or fabric xxx size
- scissors
- newspaper
- sewing machine (or needle & thread)
- pen (or for the real professionals tailors chalk!)
- ruler
- pins
- this pattern template
- an iron to steam your seams!

Making your bag...

1. Layout the old sheets of newspaper and using a ruler draw out the pattern.

2. Cut out and label each piece accordingly matching the pattern template

3. Get your t-shirt or fabric, pin the pattern pieces to it and cut each shape out

4. Take piece 1 and fold along centre dotted line with the wrong side of the fabric facing out.
Stitch down seam F & G, turn inside out so the material is the right way round and press flat.
Fold again in half and stitch down the two edges to make pocket opening. Put pocket to one side.

5. Take the handles (piece 3) and with the wrong side of fabric facing up fold in outer edges, then fold fabric
in half so the right side is facing and stitch down along both edges.
Repeat for other handle!

6. Take a handle & place on piece 2 (on the right side of the fabric) and stitch down.
Repeat with other handle then take the pocket and with the back facing up stitch on top of the handle.
Turn both piece 2 over so that the right side of fabric is together and stitch along seam a, b & c.
Open up and press seams.

7. Now take the bag and sew seams e & d on the bottom.

8. Fold over the top edge of the bag 1 cm, fold over again and stitch down the edge.

9. Strengthen the straps by stitching a cross where they join the bag.

10. Fold inside out for your finished bag!!
