Congratulations to Tiger Beat Show Choir for a Superior Rating at the Duncan Show Choir Contest on February 20th. They get ready to go to Alva Show Choir Contest on March 6th for their final contest of the season, so wish them luck! On a sadder note, too many choir students are ineligible. This means that they are making a 59% or less in another class. This should never happen. Students have time during choir to get caught up if they are on the Eligibility List. Please visit with them about using that time wisely. Finally, All Intermediate Choir Students received Superior and Excellent during Solo Ensemble Contest. I am so proud of all the students who participated. It takes a lot of outside class rehearsal time to go to this event. Good Job! Students!

3. Drink plenty of water and relax. If your vocal cords are dry or if you stress them out while you practice, you will damage them. 4. Use your breath support. If you want to sing louder, use your air support not your vocal cords to make the sound louder. Try not to sound breathy, use the air to engage the vocal cords and the face mask.
5. Get plenty of rest. Go to bed early. Do not have your cell phone in the room where you sleep. Do not watch TV or play games until late into the night. Even on days off, this will make it harder to control your instrument. Be disciplined about your habits. 6. Eat Healthy. Your instrument works better if it is correctly nourished. Dont pig out on junk food. Add fruits and vegetables to your diet.
Next Meeting is Monday, March 4 in the Choir Room at South. (Directions to Choir Room Come in Through front doors and walk 3 toward cafeteria. Walk through cafeteria and through doors to your left. Go through the large commons area to the Fine Arts Wing. Go through the doors, turn left, then right. My room is the last room on the right.) The Choral Parents Association has been invaluable this year. We still have large group contest fees, substitute fees, accompanist fees, and transportation fees for this semester. Also we have only raised enough money for half of our uniforms. The CPA has arranged many opportunities to contribute to the choir. One of the easiest ways is through our Eat Out and Give Back Nights. Please support us as you can.
