Step 1 Presentation (20 minutes)

1. Teacher shows a slide of lyrics of a song entitled Animal Sounds. 2. Teacher sing the song while the pupils listen carefully. 3. Teacher sing once again and asks the pupils to repeat after him. 4. Teacher asks the pupils to sing without any helps from the teacher.

Step 2 Practice (15 minutes)

Question: Which animal produce this sound?

1. Teacher shows a slide containing a list of animals together with its pictures based on the song that have been sung earlier. 2. Teacher divides the class into two groups. 3. First group reads the names of the animals in the slide one by one. 4. Second group will make the sounds of the animals mentioned by the first group. 5. Teacher changes the role of the groups where the second group reads the names of the animals while the first group makes the sounds of the animals.

Step 3 Production / Assessment (10 minutes)

Animals and their sounds: Cat - meow Cow - moo Dog - woof Bird - chirp Rooster - cuckoo Duck - quack

1. Teacher divides the class into six groups. 2. Each group is given a piece of mahjong paper and a flash card which the sound of an animal is written on it. 3. On the mahjong paper, each group is required to draw the animal that produces the sound which is written on the flash card. 4. Each group presents their drawings and they need to make the sound of the animal they have drawn in front of the class.

Closure (10 minutes)

Worksheet: Match the pictures. Rebus questions.

1. Teacher distributes a worksheet for each pupils about animals and the sounds they produce. 2. The pupils need to work in pairs to answer the worksheet. 3. The pair that gets the highest marks will be rewarded.
