Reading is one of the macro skills that all of the students must develop and enhance.

The said macro skill has two levels of processing which are shallow (low-level) processing and deep (high-level) processing. This theory was first identified by Fergus I. M. Craik and Robert S. Lockhart and they differentiated the former to the latter. Shallow processing involves structural and phonemic recognition, the processing of sentence and word structure and their associated sounds while deep processing involves semantic processing, which happens when we encode the meaning of a word in our mind. Having these two levels of processing, we, the researchers are going to dart our attention to deep processing in a deeper sense. If deep processing involves semantic processing, this happens when we encode the meaning of a word in our mind which is a pre-requisite in comprehending a text, this study focuses on Reading Comprehension. Reading comprehension is defined as the level of understanding of a text or message. This understanding comes from the interaction between the words that are written and how they trigger knowledge outside the text/message. Proficient reading depends on the ability to recognize words quickly and effortlessly. If word recognition is difficult, students use too much of their processing capacity to read individual words, which interferes with their ability to comprehend what is read. The researchers who are future educators do believe that people with the same field have to prioritize the reading skills of their students. This must happen because of the fact that reading is a pre- requisite of writing. In some research, Comprehension levels can now be observed through the use of a FMRI, functional magnetic resonance imaging. FMRIs' are used to determine the specific neural pathways of activation across two conditions, narrative-level comprehension and sentence-level comprehension. Images showed that the there was less brain region activation during sentence-level comprehension, suggesting a shared reliance with comprehension pathways. The scans also showed an enhanced temporal activation during narrative levels tests indicating this approach activates situation and spatial processing. Though in this research, the researchers are going to illustrate and analyze the reading comprehension of the students of ________________________ (schools name). This study would serve as an eye opener for the principals, teachers, head departments and other people involve to know what is the situation of their students and to know action should they take if there would be any problems that the researchers may encounter.

At the end of this research, the researchers will have their recommendations regarding to the result of their study and have some reading techniques that teachers could employ or execute in their class.
