TEST protocol 28.01.2013 Tasks: Parallel operation of two similar snowmaking machines, fed by a pressure increase pump with the same water pressure, the same hose length and snow into the same cardinal direction. Distance between the machines at least 15 meters. Declaration of units: FKT: Water temperature: Water pressure: Measuring distance: Switch step: Water flow: Test time: Height of snow: Weight of plate: Weight m: Humidity:
TEST VALUES:

wet bulb temperature- crucial temp. in Celsius ( for snowmaking C) actual water temperature at the machine (after the pump) actual water pressure at the machine distance between the measuring plates to the machine tube opening of the water circles on the machine actual water consumption on the machine snow duration of the testing plate actual snow surface on the testing plate actual weight of snow without testing plate calculated weight of a cubic meter of snow optical assessment of snow crystals

Result of TEST 1: In this temperature range with these water quantity, there are no differences detected.

Result of TEST 2: The weight of snow on cubic meters fell by ~6,4%. That means that there could be added 6% more water, to reach equal weight but more quantity.

TEST RUN 3 FKT Water temperature Water pressure Measuring distance Switch step Water flow Test time Height of snow Weight of plate Weight m Humidity with -0,7 2,2 C 15 bars 15 meter Nuk + 6 100 l/min 1,5 h 117 mm 4,040 kg 552,5 kg/m ok without -0,7 2,2 C 15 bars 15 meter Nuk + 6 100 l/min 1,5 h 85 mm 3,124 kg 588,0 kg/m ok

Result of TEST 3: Absolutely limit temperature range, normally snow-making is starting at -1 FKT. The weight of snow on cubic meters fell by ~6,0%. That means that there could be added 6% more water, to reach equal weight but more quantity.

Total result TEST RUN 1-3: With the current values, it seems like if we could increase the snow production within the same temperature range by 5-6 %. The different levels of snow are by wind conditions not meaningful.
