Language Development: An analysis of three years Old Language Development at Linguistic Development in Children

Theoretical Framework This paper analyzes the language development of a three years old. On this study, researcher just analyze the children which dance and sing in front of the television First, as stated Oral language, the complex system that relates sounds to
meanings, is made up of three components: the phonological, semantic, and syntactic (Lindfors, 1987). The phonological component involves the rules for combining sounds.

Second, as stated Leavitt (1980), researchers and language specialists emphasize the importance of the interactions between infants and their caregivers, particularly the mother, in the acquisition of language.

Sentence structure begins to improve (but is not yet consistently correct) and storytelling becomes a favourite pastime. Brimming with stories about their daily activities, children this age are happy to engage in conversation. Stuttering may appear now for some children. If so, parents should seek the advice of a speechlanguage pathologist. (Brown, 1973; Fernald, 1984).

Discussion

Object of the Research The objects of the researcher is Alif Vanda Putri Azahra. She speak Indonesian as the first language. The researcher record her activity while she imitated walis song.

Data collecting technique and procedure In the study, researcher use some steps below that can be formulated as data collecting technique and procedure: 1. Choose a baby to be observed 2. Record children utterances using video recorder 3. Transcribing data from video into script 4. Looking for suitable theories 5. Analyzing the data

Video Descriptions Vanda try to imitated the song and the gestures, she try to sing the song with her language. She tried to say ingat but she just said aaat, try the word akhirat she jut said aaat, and the word astaqfirullah haladzim she just said diiim. At three years old, vanda interested in singing, so if she hear a song she try to imitated. Although her language is still falter like in the description above. Example : aaaat, diiiim.

1. Stages of linguistic development

Almost all children learn the rules of their language at an early age through use, and over time, without formal instruction. Thus one source for learning must be genetic. Humans beings are born to speak; they have an innate gift for figuring out the rules of the language used in their environment. The environment itself is also a significant factor. Children learn the specific variety of language (dialect) that the important people around them speaks.

Oral Language Components Oral language, the complex system that relates sounds to meanings, is made up of three components: the phonological, semantic, and syntactic (Lindfors, 1987). The phonological component involves the rules for combining sounds. Speakers of English, for example, know that an English word can end, but not begin, with an "-ng" sound. We are not aware of our knowledge of these rules, but our ability to understand and pronounce English words demonstrates that we do know a vast number of rules. 3-4 Years Sentence structure begins to improve (but is not yet consistently correct) and storytelling becomes a favourite pastime. Brimming with stories about their daily activities, children this age are happy to engage in conversation. Stuttering may appear now for some children. If so, parents should seek the advice of a speech-language pathologist. It showed in the example below. Example : 1. she just said aaat from the word ingat and akhirat 2. she just said diiiim from the word astaqfirullah haladzim Stages of linguistic development in children :
