Healthcare has become an important sector of our economy and the demand for well educated health professionals is rapidly growing. Nurses are the backbone of healthcare and without them, the healthcare system will collapse. I had chosen to become a nurse because this considers being a noble profession wherein you could care for others, teaching patients and building relationships with patients, families, advocating for the most vulnerable of patients and building relationships with patients, families and other professionals.

Job Description
The Staff Nurse:
1. Request, prepares, administer, and charts medications and patients reaction to medications. 2. Gives direct nursing care. 3. Identifies nursing needs of patients. 4. Plans give and evaluates nursing care. 5. Observes signs and symptoms, institutes remedial action when appropriate and record it in the chart. 6. Reports observation to the physician. 7. Interprets to the patients and his family their roles in promoting successful therapy and rehabilitation. 8. Prepares patient for, and assist physicians with, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. 9. Assists physician when examining patients. 10. Sees to it that equipment receive proper care and maintenance. 11. Acts as a senior nurse when so delegated. 12. Receives and endorses ward equipment and supplies. 13. Gives health teachings. 14. Maintains good personal relationship with other hospital personnel. 15. Performs other tasks as assigned by superior. Professional Attributes: 1.
