LAstrologue Users Guide

1. Overview
LASTROLOGUE is an astrological software, intended to compute, draw and interpret natal charts on the Macintosh. It has been developed on Macintosh because there was a lack of such programs on this platform. Planetary and houses positions are computed with great accuracy (less than one arc minute in longitude) and the calculation routines are the result of an intricate research and were tested over a long period of time. LAstrologue should be of great help for amateur or professional astrologers. Its distribution as a shareware, gives us the oppurtunity to propose it at a low fee, in comparison of what you can find in this area.

2. Features of LAstrologue
LAstrologue is easy to use, computes and draws a chart in less than half a second. Accuracy on planets and house positions are generally better than two arc minutes. Tropical or Sidereal charts. Integrated Atlas with more than 40,000 cities with time zone information, users default city and complete management. Cities are found by typing the first letters of their names. 5 house systems - Placidus, Porphyre, Campanus, Koch and Regiomontanus (LAstrologue will automatically use Porphyres house system for latitudes where others are not applicable). Mean Lunar Nodes, Lilith, and Part of Fortune. Distribution of planets and other objects in cardinal, mutable, fire, earth, types. Determination of a Ruling Planet. Primary and Secundary aspects. Users defined orbs.. Here & Now chart computed for the current date, time and a users default city. Progressions, Solar and Lunar Returns. 3

MacOS X 10.3 and higher LAstrologue 6 is optimized for MacOS X.

4. Registration of LAstrologue
With an unregistered version of LAstrolgue, you can only compute charts for years ending by a zero. Please, see the registration form or our web site to register online. You can acquire two types of license for LAstrologue : a PRIVATE-USE license for : US $54.95. With the PRIVATE-USE license, you can establish charts for your personal use. You are not allowed to sell the charts established by LAstrologue, or to do some business related with the use of LAstrologue. a PROFESSIONAL-USE license for : US $295 with which you are allowed to do any business that involves the use of LAstrologue, but you are not allowed to resell the software LAstrologue itself. Please contact us... You can register LAstrologue online on a secure server (go to www.algenib.com for more information).

5. Quickstart
To establish the natal chart of a person, you must have the following informations : the birth date; the birth time; to know for the birth date, if it was in daylight saving time or not; the birth place. 1. In the File menu, select New. You have then to enter all the information in the charts data dialog; 5

LAstrologue Users Guide 2. In the field Chart of enter the name of the person; 3. Enter birth date and time and check eventually the Daylight Saving Time box; 4. In the field Locality to find, type the first letters of the birth place and press Enter or click on the Find button; 5. Select the birth place in the list of locations by double clicking on its name; 6. If you want a classical astrological chart, let the Tropical button selected; 7. Click on Compute LAstrologue will then compute and draw your chart in less than half a second. You will find all additional information, like planets or houses positions, in the Chart Menu. You can then save, analyse, or print the chart and its related informations. Shareware : Before you have registered LAstrologue, you will only be allowed to establish charts for years ending by a zero. Legal Time / UT Time / Daylight Saving time UT means : Universal Time and is the same as GMT which means Greenwich Meridean Time. Here are the calculation formulas used : UT Time = Legal Time Time Zone (generally) UT Time = Legal Time Time Zone 1 (in Daylight Saving Time) Time Zone is a number between 13h00 and +13h00. This number is negative, west of Greenwich, and positive at East. Searching a city in the integrated Atlas When you are looking for a specific location, you enter the first letters of its name. LAstrologue will display the first thousand localities it finds. If the expected citys name does not appear in the list, you must refine your research.

6. Interpretation of a natal chart

All the interpretation texts were written by Genevive Welker for LAstrologue. They are small 6

LAstrologue Users Guide but very accurate and give you an interpretation of the following subjects : The meaning of the planets in the signs; The meaning of the planets in the houses; The meaning of the primary aspects (conjunctions, sextiles, ); Character of the Ruling Planet; The meaning of the Lunar Nodes in signs and houses.

You have to see additional books for more information on your charts.

7. Distribution of LAstrologue
LAstrologue 6.x can be freely included on FTP sites, or on CD-ROM, but only with all the original files that come with it. Registration codes cannot be distributed.

8. LAstrologue User Agreement

The software LAstrologue can be licensed to you for your private or professional use, and not sold. You are neither allowed to dissamble, or reuse portions of code of LAstrologue, nor to use elsewhere or to export the interpretation texts of LAstrologue. Some geographical data are used under license from Time Palette (go to the end of this guide for additional information). The software LAstrologue and related documentation are provided AS IS without any warranty of any kind expressed or implied. Under no circumstances will Collins International LLC be liable for any incidental, special or consequential damages that result from the use or inability to use the software or related documentation. The use of the Registered or the Unregistered version of LAstrologue implies that you agree with these terms.

10. Note about the integrated Atlas

The integrated atlas contains more than 40000 cities around the world with their geographical coordinates and time zoneinformation. Some geographical data are used under license from Time Palette (see www.timepalette.com ), for their non-exclusive use in LAstrologue.
