John Shaffer decided to build a fairly elaborate scenic base for his Dwarf Organ Gun (also elaborately converted). Each Master Engineer in a Dwarf army may entrench one war machine. As you can see to the right, John used a combination of movement trays and miniature bases to form his display base. Thus, his crew can be removed from the scenic base if they need to defend their war machine in combat or as they suffer casualties. This method of creating scenic bases allows for the most creativity and flexibility in game play.

Defended Obstacle
When Dwarfs entrench their war machines, the crewmen may take advantage of the Defended Obstacle rule. John chose the grudge heads from his Battle for Skull Pass starter set to create the barricade (Left).

Similar Approaches
Eric Sarlins Chaos Hellcannon )Aboue was based in a very similar fashion to Johns Organ Gun. The crew models can be removed but look like theyre engaged in operating the engine when theyre on the base. Noel Meyer took her Dark Eli Repeating Bolt Thrower (Right) one step further by modeling it on top of rock that blends seamlessly with most gaming tables. jeff Hall adopted a slightly different approach when he based his Goblin Rock Lobba on a Chariot base. The base for the war machine allowed him to add ammunition and other guhbinz for character and still leave his crew free to move around on the tabletop.

Johns finished Organ Gun looks quite formidable on the field of battle.
