Biological Control Inoculum

What is Trichoderma ?
Trichoderma is a filamentous fungus that is widely distributed in the soil, plant material, decaying vegetation, and wood. Trichoderma spp. are fungi, that are present in nearly all soils and other diverse habitats. In soil, they frequently are the most prevalent culturable fungi. Among their other activities, they grow tropically toward hyphae of other fungi, colonize them and finally destroys them, i.e. they kill the harmful pathogenic fungi in the ecosystem that cause immense damage to some valuable crops under cultivation in the farmers fields

transplants. Trichoderma contains micronutrients and fermentation substances which may improve the survival of transplants. Trichoderma may increase the beneficial microbial activities in the rhizosphere which in turn promote root and plant growth. In fumigated soils or soils with low biological activities, Trichoderma is extremely beneficial in creating a rhizosphere which is dominated by beneficial microorganisms. It has a wide range of properties, and benefits as follows:
It is a biological fungicide with

Trichoderma can improve soil structure. The Trichoderma produce humic compounds and help form aggregates in the soil to improve soil porosity. Trichoderma can be applied as a foliar spray, seed soak, transplant dip, side dress or through irrigation systems. When properly applied to the soil, Trichoderma will multiply and produce factors which may stimulate plant growth. Large populations of beneficial microorganisms also crowd out pathogens, preventing them from becoming established. Importance of Trichoderma and Its Contribution to Agriculture Soil organisms contribute a wide range of essential services to the sustainable function of all ecosystems, by acting as the primary driving agents of nutrient cycling, regulating the dynamics of soil organic matter, soil carbon sequestration, modifying soil physical structure and water regimes, enhancing the amount and efficiency of nutrient acquisition by plants and trees and enhancing plant health. These services are not only essential to the functioning of commercial plant and tree production but constitute an important resource for the sustainable management of agricultural systems.

world wide application.

It protects germinating seed, roots

This fungus has enormous properties to control many severe and deadly plant diseases that even the most potent fungicides available today are unable to control. Trichoderma is a seedling inoculant for use as a preplant root and/or soil treatment for plug or bare root

and emerging shoots from soil borne pathogens. It is also effective against a large number of foliar diseases. It is economical and effective to use in the field It is environment friendly, nontoxic to plants It is ideal for organic farming, IPM and export oriented crops. It can be used as a seed dressing agent It has properties to induce systemic resistance in plants. It can colonize the pathogenic host root system. It helps the affected plant to grow again naturally and recover fully It has growth promoting properties.
